Stephen Jones: One of our goals is to draft a QB

Romo..yes. Dak was way over drafted in the 4th. You said maybe we’ll find another Dak or Romo. Why would we want either again? What is their combined playoff record? That’s the only W/L records that matter.
You say Dak was overdrafted at round 4 which was basically 5th round since he was at the bottom of it.just out of curiosity which round do you think he belongs in.

Yeah, that was silly. Dak has played like a 2nd/3rd round QB. Even late first. If anything, he was underdrafted.

6-7-FA. He fell into the perfect situation with the Jones who have skimped on the QB position since Aikman retired. I followed him in his time at MS ST. He did nothing in his time there to suggest he’d ever be anything but an average QB, at best, on the nfl level. He struggles with the same inadequacies now as he did in HS and college. He was decent on both those levels but nothing to make you believe he would ever be an NFL caliber QB not if winning a championship is your #1 goal. I think most can agree that hasn’t been the goal of the Jones’ in a very long time.

Just scary.........

Think back on the QB's they drafted and the ones they wanted to.

How many lasted more than a few seasons?

In 30 years Jerry drafted five quarterbacks.......five.

Mark White was cut his first season.

Ben DiNucci lasted 1 season.

Stephen McGee lasted two seasons.

Quincy Carter lasted four seasons.

Jerry wanted Johnny Manziel. He wanted Paxton Lynch. He wanted to spend a 1st round draft pick on them. Neither lasted two seasons.

They don't get it. You have a lot better chance of hitting the target with 15 shots than you do with 5. These guys can't even point the gun in the right direction.

This is one of the most bizarre Dak posts I’ve seen. He was over drafted is another lol.

I mean at the end of the day they’ve had Romo and Dak. Probably more fortunate than most. I didn’t expect them to use resources on QB when those guys were in their prime.

Stephen Jones: One of our goals is to draft a quarterback

Another stupid comment by a guy that literally gets laughed at around this league.

If they are serious about drafting a QB (which I don’t think they are) why would you even mention it now? Unless you are aware your fan base is completely fed up with you and you start flying all kinds of trial balloon comments just to get fans “talking”.

These are the comments of a man who has his job and all the attention he receives because of his birth certificate.

They may end up having a total of 4 5th round picks. Comp picks are tradeable so they very well could still draft in the 4th round with a trade.
I don’t understand how, at this time, they can be awarded an additional comp pick in this draft. I’m apparently missing something.

Interesting. The insiders on NFL network said the Cowboys offered Lance in extension during the season and he rejected it. I am starting to wonder if that was the reason it took him to the end of the season to start a game. Broaddus said he believed the Cowboys where trying to keep his value down.

Teams wouldn't hesitate to spend a 1st round pick on an NFL average QB. Especially after the numbers he has put up in this league to say hes a 6th round or later guy is absolutely foolish.

This is the over the top takes on Dak that make valid criticism seem like hate, and should be called out.

You cannot seriously argue that Dak was overdrafted.

Trey Lance.

Heck of a use of a 4th round pick there fellas!

May as well have just burned it.
Like watching the Hutchinson, Henson days again… except back then it was as long as you had blond hair and blue eyes, you had a shot of being the next Troy Aikman

There are several 2-4 round QBs with a lot bigger upside than Romo. In a QB weak draft, there are LOTS with a bigger upside than Dak had coming out of college. We gotta roll the dice sometimes. IMO there are NO first round QBs in this draft. The handful that are rated in the first wouldn’t be any upgrade over Romo. Right now, I’d take a fence post over dumb Dak.
But roll the dice on who? Jerry and Stephen will roll the dice however they have no idea who they're rolling the dice on..... They rolled the dice on Romo. Where did that go? They rolled the dice on Dak, where did that go?

Just because your closet is full of Dak jerseys doesn’t make him anything more than what he is. Your take on the QB position is what is foolish. Your type always go to those garbage, fantasy numbers. I’m calling you out for falling in the dumb Dak love followers. Dak’s garbage.

That’s not rolling the dice. A forth round and FA pick is not rolling the dice. Invest in the QB position. You’ll never get there if you don’t try.
