I will remind people of Dak looked like before Coop got here, and when he was out sick this season.

I know he has the easiest contract to cut savings with, but at least try and trade him first.

Also, where does that lead us if you lose Coop and Schultz, Gallup and Ced? Lamb and Jarwin? Lol

    They are never doing that.

The kid as much as said so a few months ago.

I'd swear we are the only team that has perpetual cap problems but never comes even close to winning.

It can't be blamed on anything besides piss poor management, and they think they have it all figured out and are doing great.

I guess when you control the local media it helps.

It's really an awful situation, one that I'm starting to have serious doubts will ever change.

Yeah I thought my post kind of implied we'd retain him. I don't think he will be that costly and I expect he is re-signed.

If we lose him, Anger, and Coop or Law I will join the pitty party.

The cap is so fluid 99% of this board doesn't have an accurate grasp on it, self included. I'm hoping Zeke and Jaylons money going away plus restructures and an ever inflating cap are enough.

The obvious problem isn't the cap. It's that we appeared to have re-signed guys who don't seem capable of taking us to the promise land. Cincy is a great example. Their cap number is very healthy, but their best players are on rookie deals. It will change rapidly, fortunately for them their guys have already proven their capabilities.

Did not say that, we should expect to win but you do not just throw away a good offensive coordinator at a whim. He has been OC 3 years and in those 3 years has produced 2 offense that ranked 1st in the NFL, that is not an easy task and has a lot of positives he brings and yes things he must improve on, but you don't ditch the entire offense? that is knee jerk reaction and expected from many fans who can't control their emotions.

I'd say it's the opposite, not wanting to dump players and salaries in order to build a super bowl roster is having trouble controlling their emotions.

They don’t control the local media. You need to read the local papers and tv broadcast .

????? Cowboys situation will require the loss of some FA players currently on the roster, not much you can do about that especially if the value of guys like Schultz is higher than some may expect. I would not be shocked to see us lose a player who is under contract because of the salary, I think some will have contract restructured to free up cash but Cowboys like most any team will lose some FA players.

None of this has to do with the fact I mentioned about Moore. I agree things he needs to do better at but overall his offense have been ranked 1st 2 out of his 1st 3 season as OC and according to some with only as an avg QB? (which I disagree on Dak being just avg)

Half the fans want tons of guys cut lol
But we knew these guys would not be offered contracts as in CW, or would not be affordable as in Schultz
I’m sure the team knew this so hopefully there is a plan
But guys like LVE, Armstrong, Kearse start adding up to lots of guys you got to replace
Kearse I hope we can sign but LVE, Gregory and even a guy like Armstrong has to be replaced, hopefully with upgrades but hard to replace that many guys without FA additions
So I see a challenging off season but one they should have known was coming and has a plan for
    Hopefully a good plan lol

Saying the Jones boys don't care about winning is giving them a pass for incompetence.

They absolutely want to win so they can act like the smartest "football guys" in the room.

I hope they look into a reclamation project like Will Hernandez at left guard. He was highly regarded and played well until Garrett came along. And he has strong ties to our offensive linemen as well as the Dallas area.

Why should it? No matter what happens on the field, the Joneses continue to get rich. They can’t lose, even if their team does. And there’s no threat of accountability or losing their jobs.

Yes please, like a Leonard Davis type project.

Sometimes it's all about scheme and utilization

This thread is about the salary cap. We have 5-6 players taking up a huge chunk. All of them are underperforming. That is the situation. Needs to be cleaned up.

Not sure what KMo has to do w/ the salary cap.

It doesn't matter what fans thought of him. It only matters how he was perceived by the league. His numbers said he was a top DE. His play at that time suggested he was a top DE. So he was going to get paid as a top DE. He wasn't rewarded like Mack, because Mack had shown more consistency. He was rewarded like Garrett because Garrett had shown more consistency, even though he missed six games the year before he was paid. But he had had two consecutive 16-game seasons (health) and two consecutive 10-plus-sack seasons (production) on top of being a stellar run stopper. He got paid what he should have been expected to receive. Same with Cooper, who actually took a little less to stay here. Elliott's amount was established by the horrible contract the Rams gave to Gurley, but even taking that out of the picture, Elliott's contract averages $15 million and Leveon Bell got $13 million per year from the Jets. David Johnson got $13 million per year from the Texans, and both of those guys were on the back end of their careers. Derrick Henry gets $12.5 million per year, but his contract is considered one of the most undervalued in the league.

I just think fans aren't realistic when it comes to contracts. They're like my father-in-law when he goes to a restaurant, complaining about the prices because he remembers when the food cost $1.

And he would certainly bring the power the others were sorely lacking.

    Yeah that's what I mean.....

I keep trying to hope that we can overcome it, but I'm starting to feel a little foolish.

Sometimes you just get beat, but this is WAY more than a trend.....the same problems with different coaches season after season.

Jerry clips the wings of every coach in the eyes of the players from the word go, and doesn't see the problem in it.

I dont see how any HC is supposed to motivate any group in this situation.

Coaching and scheming is vital in the cap era to gain an edge.

    Again, it's a rough situation.

The only thing going for them next year is that no one in the media is going to trust hyping them.....but once they get anything good going, the players will buy the hype and mail it in....because there's no one to keep reminding them that they still suck and there's a long way to go.

Even if he tried, Jerry would get on the radio and hype his product.

It's really and awful situation that I'm not sure can ever be overcome, unless we eventually end up with a QB that's far and away the best in the league.

The guy some people said was as good or better than Quenton Nelson. LOL.

    I'd take a flier if he's cheap.
