“There’s no moral victories in this thing. At the end of the day, you are what you are,” Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. “It was obviously a very difficult one to digest. I know we’ll bounce back as a team, and we’ll get to work. There’s some positive things to build on, in terms of this team, but certainly no moral victories there.”

Though I wish they would both be quiet, I prefer Jerry's honesty to fake tough guy stuff. It was clearly a moral victory.

Them being on a separate page is a good thing IMO.

Agree, but it just shows that the communication and organization at the top is outstanding, nothing to worry about there. :D

One person says something, then another comes in saying the opposite. This leads to confusion for Garret, so on and so forth. I bet no one knows who or how to answer too up the pyramid. Lacking structure :(

I don't see that, I think having differing views is a healthy thing on subject like this. This has to do with 2 peoples views of moral victory or not. Stephen does agree there are things we can learn and build off of from this game but does not see it as a moral victory if Jerry does then what does it really matter and what does it change?

Moral Victories are for clubs who are struggling to find identities. Clubs who are in the process of building. You try and sell Moral Victories to your young players in an attempt to build character. That's not what this team is supposed to be. We are a team who is supposed to challenge for the Playoffs, or so we are told.

Personally, I don't really believe in Moral Victories in Pro Sports but everyone is entitled to their own opinions on those kinds of things.

Nothing if they were just owners and executives rambling about the game. But, since they are the gm(s), it sends mixed messages to the team and coaches. This is not the first time they said the opposite and it will not be the last. Have you ever had two bosses with differing opinions(allegedly) on how something should work? I have and when I had a concern, I figured out which one to go to for that situation, playing one against the other. I think Garrett, coaches and players have to tip-toe through that as well. Hence, lack of structure.

This is just me rambling, don't take anything serious. It is conspiracy theory Tuesday for me :)

That is impressive. Three stupid cliches in two sentences. It's like he turned into a football player and is speaking to the media.

On some topics I would agree but 2 men and their views of moral victory or not a moral victory does not concern me. Both men understand this was a loss and both men know there was a lot of good that came out of the game. I have seen nothing from players that would indicate they are having to tip toe, Witten had no problem saying this is not a moral victory.

I guess the man who worked for him rubbed off a bit since that is how Parcells would put it and BP said it and was not a player either .

Maybe because that was Witten

I bet you won't hear Wilcox say that ;)

Jerry and Doomsday101 are wrong.

Good call Stephen.

lol.. I don't care if people want to call it a moral victory or not. I do see things that this team can draw from this loss some things they can feel good about. Losing is never good but if this team can take these positives from the game and move forward and string together some wins and play to that level offensively then moral victory or not the loss was not all in vein. On the other hand if they come out and play poor ball then yeah it shows me they learned nothing.

Most athletes I have known will tell you they learn more out of a loss than they do from a win.

I don't think the Cowboys muzzle players or coaches. Some of this is just a matter of looking at something from a different point of view. No one is saying this loss is good but there are things that can help and improve this team moving forward if they can take these positives and continue to perform like they did. Jerry is right if this offense can produce as they did sunday we will win a lot more games.

Fat Boy Parcells would say "it is what it is." Ordinarily I would forgive such a nonsensical remarks but then ever football player started saying that and it drove me nuts. NUTS! I say. I long for the days when we clung to simpler cliches such as "we half to deep reach within ourselves" "Or it's a team sport."

OK, now go back to the porch and watch for suckers on the used car lot. You half to make money to send me to the Super Bowl like you promised.

Well, most of America was expecting us to get blown out, and we took it down to the final bell. Yahoo Pick'em had us favored by only 6% of the fans who pick, which is by far the lowest I can ever recall seeing. Those 6% were probably just the hard core fans like myself who refuse to give in to conventional wisdom. o_O (This week, Jacksonville has 1% against the Broncos. Go Jags!)

Jerry's right, in that playing close provides more hope going forward than absorbing a major beat-down.
