Dak has been injury prome the last few years, hold off on an extension since he's already reworked his contract and let's see how next year (This season) goes.
That's what they are doing I believe. But let's not act like if we released him today one of these QB needy teams wouldn't sign him to a 45 or 50mil plus deal. The QB market is STUPID but is what it is

So we can get 2 first round picks if he signs with someone else at a higher price than we think he's worth. I'd trade Dak this second for two firsts. However, when Dak finds out the highest bidder with pay him $35M-$40M, we would resign him for that. Not the $50M+ the reports says.
Except there are 2 problems. Dak both has not being tagged in his contract and it would be his 3rd tag so it would be higher anyway (about 50m to be precise) so it’s pointless to do anyway.

Maybe he means us fans will wake up 1 day and it'll be done without much lip service before hand. He seems to be trying not to talk about an extension. Maybe he realizes sometimes all this talkin hurts their negotiations.

I still think they might extend him before TC.
Right now they are trying to figure out who they can dump so they can pay dakko the 50 million a year he wants.
Players are typically extended with one year left on their contract. Not counting a 5th year option. I don't see what would make them deviate from that with Dak. Especially after they restructured him. I'm not saying they won't do it, just that there is absolutely no reason to do so until next year.

well they had to restructure him or extend him now to get his cap down now.
they chose restructure, and if they dont extend him before TC, then they may be going to judge him more harshly
by what he does this coming season.
This could be a show me year for mike and dak.
