Stephen Jones - We've got several things that we're considering right now

Yeah, the infamous Pressures Crowd always make me chuckle when they attempt to downplay the impact of an actual sack.
Usually I add those to a lengthy ig list.
Pressures are subjective and not all are equal. But pressures in some cases can actually be more impactful as it can cause an interception. It can rattle the QB on the next few plays. My point is that pressures may not always be as impactful as sacks but they can be and also important to have because you aren’t always going to take the QB down. A good QB can get rid of the ball before he’s sacked but pressure can affect his timing and accuracy.

Brooks signed an extension so he is out
This is true but also maybe inaccurate some are saying maybe his extension makes it easier to sign him not the other way around i'm not sure if I'm believing what I'm reading but they said they might still be interested in trading 'cause he might be more tradable with this contract already in place.. I doubt it but the Cowboys already made valid offers on Crosby and Brooks I don't think they're gonna step up and pay more now for him for either one of them that's doesn't make any sense those were real solid offers and they were turned down so I think Cowboys Nation needs to move forward and realize they're probably talking about some other guys...

I don't think the Green Bay Packers this time last year thought they were gonna end up having Parsons on their team it just happened so something could happen that even fans or media don't see coming..

I’m don’t know the details odds the contract, but I would be pretty sure his signing bonus is pretty hefty. No way they sign and trade him and lose that much money and cap space, which they desperately need.
That’s the thing they are tanking. They don’t really need it.

For years I’ve been begging for moves to get them over the top. Nope, gotta be conservative and worry about years down the road….

Now, finally, they are probably to where they can wait it out for some of the younger talent to emerge, they want to trade for everyone rumored to be available.

Cant win.

So pressures don't mean anything? It's just better to let the QB sit back there and throw the ball when he's damn good and ready? It's a wonder we rush at all.

As mentioned in previous posts.... There are good and bad pressures.
Good pressures lead to a throwaway, loss of yardage, fumble or int.

An irrelevant or bad pressure has no adverse effect on a play and that play still nets positive yards during a so called pressure.

Current stat pressures are not measured based on the outcome of the play that I know of. They should be. Theres is NO reason to give a positive stat pressure to an individual player while a play gained positive yardage.

Getting close to a QB while the play still scores should not be categorized as some sort of positive because the guy got close.
Period.

Get another edge rusher and be done with it. Defense will be good enough with one more productive edge
So long as they keep something in their back pocket for a rainy day. Some deficiency/injury may present itself in camp and I hate when they "fix" those things with a JAG or worse. Quality please.

Huh??
Naw, I just said there are pressures that should count as a positive stat and others that end up not effecting the outcome of the play at all that shouldn't count.

Might want to scroll this thread and read all the several explanations of my opinion on this.

IF a pressure causes a throw away, loss of yardage, pick or fumble its a good pressure.

If an opponent still scores but the guy got close to the QB do you really care about this so called credited pressure?

Me neither.

I mostly agree with you. But not all positive plays are created equal. If you force a QB to throw a dump of pass is positive for them but if the QB has an extra second, he may have been able to go mid or deep. Not so simple to gauge.

Like what?

Clam chowder or Pho for dinner?

It takes being the worst at a certain position or whole unit (defense) for them to make moves and they already made their moves…..
