What's your level of confidence with Stephen running the club when Jerry retires?

I got high hopes on the guy..I think he will do a good job

He's done very well with regards to cap matters. I think it will depend on if he assumes the GM role himself or hires someone.

I like Stephen. He seems very frank and honest.

He's one of our best posters. ;)

I like him but I wish we got Pioli. I think that would have been a major coup for our future.

Mr. Stephen Jones will do an outstanding job IMO. He basically handles a lot of the football business of the Cowboys anyhow. I have spoken with him on two seperate occasions and he is a very nice person as well.

I actullay have a really good feeling about Stephen, and think he has a chance to be better than his father.

Stephen is being brought up in the NFL and Management.

He is getting the chance to learn from people like Jerry, Bill, Jimmy, etc.
He is getting to see different methods of building a team, what works and what does not work. He is great with the cap, and he has been learning football under some of the best for a while now.

When you listen to him talk you can really tell.
I think he is going to be a good one.

I think Stephen is going to be one of the best Owners in the league when his time comes. I think he will be much better then Jerry, which is not to say Jerry is a bad owner by any means. I think JJ gets a bad rap by many but mostly, by his own fan base which is unfortunate. I think we don't see all that goes on and I think Jerry doesn't tell all either.

I hope Stephen goes out an gets a good GM because I think being an owner in todays game, if you want to be financially succesful, is a full time job. Of course, if you wanna be a Bidwell and just stay on the hind tit, then you can probably coast. I don't think Stephen will be that way. I think he'll be a very good owner.

I think he will be very good also. I'd like to see Jerry turn the GM job over too him and then Jerry could deal with just being the owner.

As long as Stephen Jones gets himself a top tier GM, then he'll be a great owner.

If he tries to meddle like his dad, then we're in for even more losing seasons.

Oh, I don't think so. In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing Stephen go out and hire a young guy with talent but not much experience. Stephen has done an excellent job as an unofficial GM IMO. I think he would be very capable of doing a fine job himself. I just think it would be too much for any one person to devote the kind of energy it would take to be both Owner and GM. JMO.

I think he'll do fine. He's had plenty of time to watch how the NFL works and he's done an outstanding job with the salary cap.

I actually was invited to his wedding and was going to go. The girl that I was dating at the time was friends with Stephen's wife... or future wife at that time. I was going to be there.

Then, she and I split up just days before the wedding. :bang2: She still flew out there and went to the wedding, but I didn't get to go because obviously, she was a little pissed at me for breaking up.

She was nice enough to bring me back Jerry's autograph on one of the wedding napkins though. Still, I should've waited a little while longer to break it off. :p:

I think Stephen is going to do OK. I have every confidence in him and I think he will delegate wherever it is best to do so. Actually, I have a lot of confidence in Jerry as long as he delegates properly; it's when he tries to do it himself that I get crossways with him - he doesn't seem to notice it, though. He delegates well in the rest of his business world because he couldn't possibly do it all himself.

I also expect to have less of a personality clash with Stephen. I admit it, I'm jealous of Jerry's good fortune in life, but in all honesty, I would not trade places with him. His life is too complex for me, I prefer the quiet solitude of our ranch out in the middle of nowhere. He can have my part of the excitement of the big city and high finance. Yeah, I know it would be a disaster if everyone thought my way, but I've become a happy recluse and I don't miss living in Dallas one bit.

A thousand and one posts and in less than two years; I gotta learn to manage my time better.

Jerry will never retire, he will be running this team from his death bed.

That said I think Stephen will do a great job when Jerry dies!
