As fun as this has been, it doesn’t seem plausible they’d let him walk
Something no one is talking about is the injury risk Dak takes leaving $55-56M on the table for a few more millions. It's a long season and he's always one tackle or one bad turn from a season-ending injury. His new baby may have him thinking long and hard about being too greedy.

He’s young enough that I don’t think it matters. The Falcons didn’t blink when 35 year old Cousins blew out his Achilles, The Rams didn’t care that Stafford ripped up the ligaments in his throwing thumb right before they traded for him, the Broncos didn’t care that Peyton may have been toast with his neck thing.

Unless Dak gets a foot severed or chronic
concussion symptoms, he’ll still get all the money in the world. Even Cleveland was perfectly fine paying Deshaun Watson knowing that he most likely would miss half of his first season.

Longterm franchise QBs are THAT in demand

at the end of the day, even if they've given it actual consideration, they're in a position where it makes almost zero sense to let him walk. no compensation, no replacement, jerry is very old, the other young building blocks they'd still have to shell out for would be on a team without a qb. just none of it adds up at all.
It honestly doesnt, you are right.

Dak is universally considered a top 10 QB in the NFL...............you dont let guys like that just walk out the door for nothing, that would be horrible assett management.

The only replacement candidate on the roster is Lance and the reports out of camp say he is struggling very badly.

Keep in mind that if Dak does walk next year, Dallas has to eat almost $40 million on the 2025 cap for a player no longer on the team due to void years and restructures accelerating.

If they want to truly get rid of Dak, then either work out a trade that both sides can agree to or sign Dak to a short term contract that would allow you to start looking for his replacement since Lance doesnt seem like he is the guy.

That’s the most obvious thing as the nose on your face. They do not want to get rid of Dak. They’ve told us time and time again. Why? @Proof and yourself laid it out perfectly.

Hilarious reading so many doubters about Dak being resigned.......even if it's a record new high league contract.

GUARANTEE the Cowboys are going to keep Dak in Dallas.

I agree the Cowboys want to retain him beyond this season. I don’t know if Dak wants to stay with the Cowboys. He is going to have the opportunity to talk with other teams, be at their facilities, and see for himself what other teams have to offer other than money. It will cost the Cowboys a premium to get Prescott to forego that opportunity. There is assumption among Cowboys fans that players want to play for the Cowboys. I’m not so sure that’s even remotely true. The difficulty getting Jerry Jones to reach agreement with star players cannot endear the franchise to guys like Prescott, Lamb, Parsons…and lord know who else in the future.

Another one of those what else is he supposed to say comments. The Joneses continue to try and sound positive on the situation but the longer this goes the less likely Dak will be back next year.
They're this way about everything even a loss in the first round

the worm is gonna turn and he's gonna win a championship for us."

Will that be a division championship ????
NFC championship ????
SB championship ????

For us is not stating it correctly. It should be "We will win a championship with him soon.

1 guy does not win a championship, it takes a team effort, including the gm and his boy.

We're bidding against ourselves again. The Jones need to cop on re their public statements. Backing themselves into a corner.

What if the worm is on a leaf that falls? Would that be equal to to a potato jumping.. strictly in terms of football, of course.
