Making profits is all that matters. Not what the team needs, not what the fans want, but just how big the Jones tentacles get.The Dallas Cowboys, a Marketing company that happens to play football......
Does a fart ever truly vanish in the wind? Or does it simply get diluted by the mass of air molecules but a faint whiff of stank remains in miniscule patches? Maybe the hole in the Ozone layer was a blessing in that these miniscule patches of stank are allowed to leave our planet. These are things our losing ways have caused me to ponder. Lol.Who cares, wish this guy would vanish up like a fart in the Wind
Jerry can build a stadium in the demilitarized zone between the North and South lol..then we can be Korea's team .How about a game in N Korea?
How is it they have a choice I'm pretty sure the league mandates that every other year or every cycle that every team's gonna have to do it y'all act like they have a choice he may have turned it down now but there's gonna be a time where he can't pass he's gonna have to play and by the way I'd rather see them play in Mexico and that's like a cop out for him I mean other people are traveling all the way to London and Germany and they're just gonna roll over to Mexico I mean we're in Texas...I just don't see Jerry giving up a home game for this.
If the league wanted to schedule the Cowboys for a road game, then I can see Jerry saying yes.
YESAs if anyone would want to get up at 830 am to watch that nonsense.
Do you live in England?I am pleased the Cowboys didn't come to London this season or I would have been obliged to go. This, for clarity sake, is the only time since the international games began that I would have felt this way. Its been painful enough watching them suck on TV.
I do, on the south coast. I live in Portsmouth, known colloquially as "Pompey". I'm about 80 minutes outside London.Do you live in England?
My ex is from Kenilworth originally. Family still in the area. She claimed that no matter what they do the folks there would never accept or embrace American football. This was around the time Goodell was still pushing for a permanent team there.I do, on the south coast. I live in Portsmouth, known colloquially as "Pompey". I'm about 80 minutes outside London.
I like the international games but I do feel a non U.S based team would be a bad idea. Any of us Brits that love the game, already have a favourite team so why would any of us support the London Whatevers? My ex is from Kenilworth originally. Family still in the area. You’re clearly an exception, and maybe you’re not originally from over that way, but I’d tend to agree. I think a lot of the interest in the international games is about Americans making the trip for the experience.
I think they would have a problem competing for players, among other issues. A permanent team is out, but I think they still overestimate the overseas interest in the NFL.I like the international games but I do feel a non U.S based team would be a bad idea. Good point on the two team thing. When the MLB Dodgers were the first to go to the West Coast, they needed another to go with them or it wouldn’t have happened. The NFL has done some studies on overseas teams and the logistics need 2 x teams in Europe to work. Financially it works - the demand is there.
At the moment the league is taking the other option - which is to rapidly expand the number of European games over the coming years - safer to tap into existing fan bases. The 17th game is 100% driven by the desire to have more games overseas. In time, all teams will play one game overseas every year.
The college games in Europe are tourist events. But the NFL games are not. The league actively discourages travelling fans from the US - the vast majority of the fans attending are European.Good point on the two team thing. I don’t think that’s on the table any longer, and again, I think they underestimate the demand being driven…at least by a decent percentage…by Americans making the trip.
At some point the greed has to stop or the deterioration of the game itself will become problematic. Being satisfied with what they have apparently isn’t enough for some of these owners.
