The college games in Europe are tourist events. But the NFL games are not. The league actively discourages travelling fans from the US - the vast majority of the fans attending are European.
A majority no doubt. There aren’t 50k people making the trip.

It’s part of what things are going to be. It just turns me off since it’s a clear and obvious money grab, but that’s essentially the commissioners sole purpose these days.

More interested in branding the league globally than running a NFL franchise the right way. See where the focus is?
Jerry would have picked the Tyson fight over a Super Bowl. It's an attraction where a football team happens to play.

My ex is from Kenilworth originally. Family still in the area. She claimed that no matter what they do the folks there would never accept or embrace American football. This was around the time Goodell was still pushing for a permanent team there.

You’re clearly an exception, and maybe you’re not originally from over that way, but I’d tend to agree. I think a lot of the interest in the international games is about Americans making the trip for the experience.
Yes, I’m sure you’re right. The NFL is notorious for being unable to ascertain the market for their product. The league’s lack of financial success over the last 20 years is proof of that. Why don’t you take a moment this evening and think harder?

It’s an opinion that I threw out there for discussion with someone I thought might be in the know.

Why don’t YOU take a moment and think about not being so rude?

If you would prefer to opine that the leagues financial success is about the international games only, sounds fine, just don’t be a _____ about it. No need.

The NFL started playing games in Europe 18 years ago. The suggestion they would continue to do so without knowing it is financially beneficial is tantamount to admitting you don’t follow the NFL.

Everything indicated on a fan forum is opinion. Some opinions are more well thought out than others.

I didn’t say it wasn’t financially beneficial. Clearly it is. My point was not at all about that it wasn’t.

Maybe my posts aren’t always “well thought through,” but rather meant to discuss, not tell people things as if Im some know it all.

Find some class. Also block me please.

Sure, why not include an international embarrassment to the National TV embarrassments that happen pretty regularly

More internatiomal games = higher revenues for the NFL = higher salary cap. Makes it easier to swallow dead cap money.

I like the international games but I do feel a non U.S based team would be a bad idea. Any of us Brits that love the game, already have a favourite team so why would any of us support the London Whatevers?
Would be my 'second team'. Been to 5 international games at Wembley now including 2014 re Jags. No doubt in my mind London could support a franchise. A nine game home season would sell out

The 2nd team thing would probably be a common choice but I have never been a 2nd team kinda guy in any sport.

I also think putting a London team in any established division would cause big issues and arguments.

Not sure where this came from. I posted an article in here a few days ago say the exact opposite.
I was being facetious but in all seriousness the only people that enjoy watching them this year are people who enjoy watching their misery. LOL!
