Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on @1053thefan: “We got to get an identity on the defensive side of the football. I don’t think we ever established what we were as a defense. We really weren’t a team that created turnovers. We didn’t get the ball. We gave up a lot of explosive (plays). At times it felt like we were (stopping) the run. But we just got a lot of work to do on that side of the ball. I think everybody knows that. We’ll go all in.”

When asked about Dallas’ 2026 defensive coordinator needing to establish an identity: “Bottom line, we need an identity on the defensive side of the ball. I don’t think we established that this year. Whether it’s Coach (Matt) Eberflus or whoever it is, we have to create an identity."

"I think everybody would say that Coach (Brian) Schottenheimer has a ton of energy, he’s very authentic and has an identity. We’ve got to play to that in all three phases. I think we did in one phase (offense) this year. I don’t know that we established that in the other two phases (defense, special teams).”

Nepotism boy acting like he knows what he's talking about. He's 10 times worse than Jerry trust and believe

And he basically called schotty a offensive coordinator. You weren't supposed to say it out loud Stephen

Trusting believers in both Jerry and Stephen have been sorely disappointed far too many times in the past for this team's fans to take them at their word. Sorry, but they have yet to keep their word when it comes to promises to "go all in." That phrase has been highly misused by now. It's time for the fans of the Cowboys to believe in the Joneses once they've proven they can be trusted. Until then, just prove that you mean what you say, or please remain silent until you do. o_O

Glad he recognizes special teams was detrimental to the team's overall success. Not to the extent of defense, but minus the field goal unit special teams put us in bad situations on offense and defense.

In fact, if Beaverflus wasn't such sore spot, I'm certain we'd have seen more threads.

I have heard guys complain about Turpin not breaking off big plays, but he can't get up field and block for himself. He def can't stop these idiots from holding.

At least our needs are super obvious: We need a new teams staff. We need a new defensive staff.

We have to hope Jerry signs Pickens, Williams, and a couple other solid vets before the draft to keep our offense as stable as possible heading into 2026.
