They asked him about Kyle Orton and he said he wouldn't rule out anything. We will see going forward, but as I have stated a couple of times yesterday/today I would do all it takes to bring him back. Yes I know he screwed us but we can win with him.

Also, another nugget they just said about an upcoming opponent is that Drew Brees might have a torn rotator cuff!

We seem to be the only two interested in Orton, but he has a lifetime record of 42-40 as a starter, and was 7-5 in 12 games with the Bills last year. He's only 32. Weeden's resume has him at a career 5-16. Plus, Orton is the only decent QB out there who might be available because the cupboard is bare, so to speak.

If the team is even thinking about bringing another QB in, why is Weeden on the roster?

He's the backup. When the starter is hurt, the backup plays. lol. Weeden just backs up no matter what, even to guys not currently on the roster.

If Orton was to play the next 2 games for us we will be 4-0 heading into the bye!

Because for one he's cheap and nobody would think that he would have to spot Romo for 8 games, instead of 1or 2 games like last year. There is a reason Romo flew to London on his back in the aisle!

It would definitely be rare for me, but I would not be happy initially if Orton was brought back. Winning would make me forget real quick I guess, but I'd still complain a little at first. :)

I wonder how I would feel if Kyle Orton somehow came back to the Cowboys and led them to a Super Bowl victory... would be the weirdest thing ever.

There is no way that Orton, who hasn't played football since last season and hasn't played for us in 2 years would come in and immediately start and be effective. Linehan wasn't even the offensive coordinator when Orton was here.

Because he's going to be the backup to one of the many starting-caliber QBs that we can find out on the street.

Orton signed with the Bills last year to back up EJ Manual, and ended up starting after week 5. If he doesn't want to be the starter, maybe he would come out of retirement and sign to back up Weeden until Tony gets back.

Just saw this on R World.. don't know how to link:

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys reached out to free agent Kyle Orton, but that he's "still finished with football."

take it for what it's worth

I'll take a .500 record without Romo.

I would never bring Orton back. He screwed us, it's the same as bringing Ratliff back

there is big money involved and limited window. Put egos aside and do right thing. Orton is probably best option out there. He is familiar with offense also. Thats huge with this coaching staff.
