A guy who is rated a first rounder a Project player?Project players! I just don't get it. Every year we waist a pick on a project! How about we pick someone who can contribute??!
That does help me like the team. Not to pick on DLaw but he wasn’t a likable guy. It’s easier to root for the players that seem to want to play. The last couple years we’ve have some guys that didn’t seem like football was important to them, DLaw, Gregory, etc. it’s more fun watching a team with guys that seem to want to play. All 3 guys seem to be likeable can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m excited and I can’t wait either. I like how Schotty had made a priority of getting guys that are “football fanatics” and love the game. That Schotty hire is slowly growing on me.
What is this franchises fascination with injured players?
It's about getting 1st round talent at 76. Additionally, it was their own doctor who performed the surgery.Use an early 3rd round pick on an ACL torn CB who is likely to start the season on PUP. It's not like we don't have a need at CB. Let's just use a costly early 3rd rounder. No biggie.
I kinda thought the same, since I was hoping for a nice DT. After researching this youngins character and drive, I came to see this as a good pick. There's little doubt this kids drive and determination will have him ready to go this summer. No, I didn't know that. Nor do I care.
How many times has drafting injured players with bad knees worked out for the Cowboys? 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks should be used on healthy players who can contribute right away.
But I'm sure you don't care about all of this. So cheer away.
You forget, most of us have seen this movie before with Jaylon Smith and have little to no interest in watching a sequel. It's about getting 1st round talent at 76. Additionally, it was their own doctor who performed the surgery.
In this case drafting for the future is fine. Some here are acting like a CB selected in the 3rd round is going to be the player that puts us over the top this season. Most fans nitpicking this pick are the same ones posting that we will be competing with the Giants for 3rd in the division. I hope this selection pans out and he allows us to move on from Diggs. If healthy he's probably a 1st round pick. Yes it's nice to get instant contributions from all your draft picks, but you're also drafting for the future too.
Grandad --- those ACL tears aren't what it meant to high school losers who got hurt and sit in bars talking about the glory days like you grew up with.
It is an ACL from September -- he was a solid first rounder before that. this isn't nerve damage like Jaylon had. This was a simple injury that 1000s of players come back from.
Comparing all knee injuries as being the same is kinda dumb.Grandad? You're older than me.
You still didn't answer my question. How many times has drafting injured players with bad knees worked out for the Cowboys?
I see both sides of this one easily. It depends on what you consider working out…. Because id say Jaylen Smith worked out. He had a few solid years here. Sean Lee and Bruce Carter as well.
I’d say I’d prefer not to take injured players in the first two rounds….in the 3rd? I say take the shot. I think trading for Elam allows you to take this chance.
Let's see how this turns out. This isn't a Jaylon Smith situation. The only reason he was there at 76 was because of the injury. They expect him to start on PUP. That doesn't mean week 1. They're hoping he recovers by camp, or a bit after that. That's what I got from listening to Stephen. I'm hoping he's good, more than I am worried about his injury. But he is a risk pick. I just hope for the best.Project players! I just don't get it. Every year we waist a pick on a project! How about we pick someone who can contribute??!
Drafting injured players hasn’t been their biggest issue. Only ones that come to mind were Jaylon and Clark. Clark was a 5th which was a good risk/reward there. Jaylon was absolutely mind-numbing since it was high second and had to sit for a full year.Grandad? You're older than me.
You still didn't answer my question. How many times has drafting injured players with bad knees worked out for the Cowboys?
I'm probably older than everyone on the board. As to injury and the players drafted, roughly one third of the picks on Day 2 have an injury history. Why did Will Johnson fall? Knee issues! Every year half the players drafted if not 90 percent have had some type of injury in college especially their last two years. Every player comes back differently.Grandad? You're older than me.

So this is a wait and see type thing I'm confident he'll probably be ready for the season but there's no reason to rush him back other than the fact that Butler and Diggs are also hurt and we're going to be counting on guys like Elam and Carson I mean they may already have that handshake deal with Gilmore coming back I mean there's opportunities here the team not only with corners with receivers running backs they've got work to do and they're going to do it we're not playing a game next Sunday but everyone acts like we are these overreactions to everything is as if we're playing a game next Sunday no we're not people we have five months to get this workout..That’s not what he said. I suggest people actually watch for themselves.
