As much as I hate to agree with Stephen, this time, I suspect he might be right. The Cowboys are developing a new system, and it will take time for decent players to do decent things. Far too many changes might have been too much all at once for new coaches and players to play like pros. With that in mind, I can easily picture desperate players doing desperate things. Of course, desperation is also prompting me to say such things, but it is the time for success, at last. Call me crazy, but this is the kinda game whereby the Cowboys usually rise to the occasion. Cowboys 31, Commanders, 27.

There's a premium that comes with being the owner AND the QB of the Dallas Cowboys...so it just is what it is. I mean Justin Herbert is making 52m...Jalen hurts is getting 51m...and I know Hurts has a Super Bowl...and that MUST be respected. But if you replace Dak with Hurts...is Dallas better? Heck Trevor Lawrence was 35-42 with 1 playoff win coming into this season...and he is getting 55m a year. So the QB thing is wacky for every team, not just Dallas.

This team didn't even want to pay Derrick Henry (who lives in Dallas and by all accounts wanted to be here) $7 or $8 million a few years ago...so again...do you trust this front office with an extra $7m? So I don't blame Dak one bit. But like I said, I do understand the frustration..and Dak and Jerry are easy targets...especially with Jerry having the longest tenure in the front office and Dak having the longest tenure in Dallas currently on the roster.

I said it in an earlier thread...if this defense is still floundering at the bottom of the NFL by the end of this year...and Dak plays well enough this year to still show value...we should seriously see if we can move off of him...that is what would be best for ALL parties.

For some us having watched what we went through last year on defense saying that this can be a quick fix can be an extreme. We'd rather they prove it than talk about it.

As I said, there are answers he could have given between we think this can be a quick fix and we're doomed. Maybe just we're working on it.

his comment shows a complete and total lack of football team building knowledge. There are no quick fixes when the defense is this bad. You can only hope over time and reps, the players you have improve.
