I learned my lesson once again after last week. Never buy into this team. Assume they will lose, often in embarrassing fashion.

I don't know if I take it that far. I just try to enjoy the victories as they come, and if we lose, it's no surprise to me because I haven't built this team up and I don't allow myself to be very disappointed. Losses used to eat at me all week, but now I don't chalk anything up as a win, so I can more easily accept that we lost to the Giants. I don't jump off bridges anymore.

Maybe you've grown so tired of it, you just come out defensive against those posters who are always negative. But the ones who are always negative IMO are a minority. There are plenty here who still want to talk football but we're too busy instead discussing those who are too positive or negative.

I have no problem with those who want to bark back at Stephen for his comments about a quick fix or with those who want or need to believe it. I just generally don't see a need to ridicule them for either believe. Doesn't mean I haven't at times, but I'd rather be discussing the team than other members.

I'm just making an observation here because I do think over the years that you've made a lot of good well-thought-out comments while lately it seems that your role more seems to be to attack what you perceive as negativism. There are some I expect that from because that is pretty much all they do, but I've seen better from you.

Stephen Jones is so drunk on the Cowboy Kool-aid, it's impossible to get an objective opinion out of him. A win in week two doesn't mean it was a quick fix. I would just mean we played a bad team in our own house. You can count on a loss in week 3 because the defense is still pathetic. Stephen's lame excuse at that time will still be this is a work in progress.

Took me too long to get there. Used to be the type who would shout at officials if they blew a call. Decided a few years back that the way I was reacting to games wasn't good for my health. Now sometimes I don't even watch the games live. I record them, and watch them immediately if Dallas won and sometimes not at all if they lose. I only started not watching sometimes when they lose probably in the last year or two. I used to couldn't do that because I wanted to examine why they lost and think about how it could get fixed.

The Jerry Jones years have worn me down, so I try my best to not let myself get caught up in any hype. I have hope, but I don't allow myself to have expectations.

For some us having watched what we went through last year on defense saying that this can be a quick fix can be an extreme. We'd rather they prove it than talk about it.

As I said, there are answers he could have given between we think this can be a quick fix and we're doomed. Maybe just we're working on it.

As much as I hate to agree with Stephen, this time, I suspect he might be right. The Cowboys are developing a new system, and it will take time for decent players to do decent things. Far too many changes might have been too much all at once for new coaches and players to play like pros. With that in mind, I can easily picture desperate players doing desperate things. Of course, desperation is also prompting me to say such things, but it is the time for success, at last. Call me crazy, but this is the kinda game whereby the Cowboys usually rise to the occasion.
