LAst season was not a unique time where they leveraged to the hilt through franchise tags and claimed no money.

They've basically done it the back half of the Romo era and the entire Dak era. They couldn't leverage Dak's rookie deal because of Romo's deal and then it was they had to franchise Dak for three years and then it was DLaw or whoever else they franchised that year.
