Yes Pickens was being discussed . He also had issues in the Lions game benched with Lamb first series in Vegas . In my opinion you figure out the numbers which should have been done in Feb March you bring him back and you concentrate on defense , try and win a SB

He's also only 25 years old and coming off an all-pro season. The snag is the new contract not his issues in Pittsburgh . Nobody is trading for him unless they come to an agreement in principle with his agent on a new contract.

No doubt a deal would need to be done in order for a trade. But I think there’s still a little baggage . How much . Hard to say.

There seems to be little interest at all ,if there have been no trade talks outside of their organization, meaning where are the other 31 teams, who can right now, try to negotiate with George Pickens, and there hasn't been a single story, no smoke means no fire.

If George Pickens and his people have decided not to seek a trade which also makes no sense, but it has to be from them, they must have informed everybody behind the scenes, that they don't want to make a move right now, because they can make more next year, I don't know.

Not been a single trade off from another team, there has been any stories made up or otherwise, normally with the Cowboys there are so many rumors, things get made up, and try to be made true, but not one offer from any team of be kind because, they can offer anything they don't have offer to 1st they have already started negotiations and came to the Cowboys and George and says this is what we're willing not or will you take it and , it's not one story in 4 weeks.

I'm with you I believe there must be something to it, it must be they have shot everyone down that's tried to call because if not, we'd have heard about it we hear about everything the Cowboys do...

This is strange though maybe and I'm also guessing the Cowboys may promised George that they would tag him again next year They make them a fair offer but he'll be a free agent next year and if he plays well and quietly under the tag this year, then they won't tag him twice..

George can be very happy in Dallas. Remember that his reference is the Steelers. Not know as a "fun" team.

• Right of First Refusal: If he signs an offer sheet with another team, the Cowboys have five days to match the terms exactly to keep him.
• Draft Compensation: If Pickens signs elsewhere and the Cowboys choose not to match, the signing team must send two first-round draft picks to Dallas as compensation.
• No Signing Required to Talk: He does not need to sign the tag to talk to other teams. However, he must sign the tag (or a new contract) to officially participate in team activities, such as offseason programs or minicamps.

He’s a “POS agent” because he’s trying to get his client a deal that is appropriate? If the Cowboys are not comfortable with how the non-exclusive franchise tag works they shouldn’t utilize it.

They’re traded for Pickens. He didn’t ask to come to the Cowboys. He played a season for them. He played out his contract. And Dallas is “yeah, we’re not going to negotiate with him”.

The Cowboys are not a very good team. Perhaps if they’d have proven themselves to Pickens he’d grant more amenable contract terms.

Actually he did prefer to go to the cowboys. And the Steelers took less to do it for him. Supposedly

Correct. But I believe we can still have a trade for whatever is agreed upon as long as he hasn’t signed a contract or deal with another team. Pickens of course can have an understanding the other team will provide him a contract once the deal is done.

The first 3 bullet points won’t happen. Any potential deal won’t go through the offer sheet process.

After the parties reach an agreement (player and 2 teams), he will sign the tag and it will be a straight trade. He will then immediately sign the new contract.

An odd statement considering you just said the following on the Pickens Jones thread:

“A team is not forking over a 1st round pick, knowing they are gonna pay him 35-40 a yr.”

As far as thinking I invented football, I feel pretty confident a team is not going to go the offer sheet route and give up two #1’s since it hasn’t happened in over 25 years.

I don’t believe that, never did. No one else does either. Steelers are that gracious and certainly aren’t that stupid. He’ll show up when the spirit moves him and play on the tag. Put in a decent effort. Try not to get injured. Get through the season. See what happens next offseason.

I didn’t mean to question what you posted or imply you were predicting an outcome.

I was just pointing out that if he was moved, it wouldn’t likely happen through that offer sheet process. It’s so punitive that teams don’t really sign tagged players through offer sheets anymore.
