But it really doesn't matter to me. Offense put up 30 pts. 30 pts should get you a W. And with any other defense, the Cowboys might have.
Absolutely. The reason this team is 4-4 is almost exclusively on the other side of the ball. Hard to look at a team scoring almost 30 PPG and a QB with 18 TDs, 2,200 yards, and just 5 INTs through the first 8 games and say the offense is the problem.

That's not to say our offense doesn't have its issues... Romo has been erratic at times, we under-utilize our best player (Dez), and it would be nice to close out games with strong runs and better playcalling. But all this pissin and moanin about the offense is pretty overblown. The defense is (once again) the glaring issue.

Really let's be honest here Romo has looked a tad off the last 3 games. I don't know what's going on but it's frustrating

Romo was very ordinary.
Not sure the Lions defense is very good, Andy Dalton shredded them a week prior.

Andy Dalton and the Bengals are 6-2 and leading the Northern Division of the AFC. They are also have the 9th rated offense in the entire NFL. They have the 7th rated scoring offense and Andy Dalton is the 4th ranked QB in the NFL. Detroit barely lost that game, 27-24 in overtime.

Another words, we aint the Bengals.

For clarity, I'm not putting the onus just on the defense. The offense was pretty ordinary against the Lions. I'm kinda following @ABQCOWBOY's line of thinking that the interior of Detroit's d-line was just better than the interior of Cowboys o-line and it was messing up the flow of the offense.

So ordinary offense against historically bad defense and what you get is a 1pt loss.

His stats don't support that argument. What you could say is he doesn't trust his arm or what he's seeing and that the WR is going to be in the spot he's throwing to. Remember this offense is solely based on throwing to a "spot" you need to read a defense to accomplish that. Your claim is baseless and many people have commented on Romo's football IQ. So just stop.

The truth is coming!

Every game in the NFL is different. For instance the Rams almost beat Seattle last night but we killed them. Does that make us just as good as Seattle? Any given Sunday man. I'm not convinced the Bengals are much better than us and I surely don't think the Lions are(although their records are) I think our offense is in a rut.

Don't agree with this. While the D maybe giving up a ton of yards, they're providing opportunities early for the offensive to get in a position for a commanding lead. The O however, is not capitalizing and putting the D right back on the field. I would like to see a TOP stat.

Romo had a lot of pressure in his face most of the day, but I have watched the game several times now and he all but ignored Bryant for the majority of the game. It was no mistake that as soon as Dez got in Romo's face, the man had two big touchdowns. It's just Romo being Romo. He is electrifying at times but has never been very good at reading a defense.

and what exactly is the defense in? A nuclear meltdown?

They are better on both sides of the ball, statistically. They have a better record. I'm not sure how what other criteria there is to measure each teams performance by here.

Yeah, I think it is pretty obvious right now that our defense sucks and that isn't going to change. With that said, they are still getting plenty of turnovers. Our offense CAN get better and play better out there. If they did that, we would be in much better shape.

lol every defense is 'better than they are given credit for' when playing the cowboys. Same thing were said about Commanders and eagles. Their defenses were 'tough' because we were playing divisional rivals. The real problem is Garrett and Callahan turning Romo into a dink and dunker, aka Alex Smith II. We see how explosive the offense can be in the Denver game when we came in KNOWING we have to score and we actually let Romo launch down the field. We saw how great this offense can be when Dez started screaming and we launched down the field and got two easy touchdowns with Dez and Williams in the 4th against the Lions. We're not going to be better than a .500 team with this conservative Garrett philosophy.

I look for Dez to have a monster game with the Vikings.

Very likely. Typically when we fail at one aspect of the game, we over compensate in the following game. For instance, every time we've been called out for abandoning the run, the next game whether it works or not we run the ball relentlessly. Then go right back to where we were the prior weeks. So either Dez will have a monster game or we'll turn the ball over forcing it to him.

Guess we're not the Browns either whose QB almost threw for 300yds-yes Brandon Weeden led Browns, or the Bears offense and Cutler who torched them?

This defense is not about yards. It's about scoring. We are ranked about 20th in points allowed but you take out that Denver game and we are easily in the upper half of the NFL.
