Hes due a raise, and I dont think the Cards can pay him

Hes a great 3 or nice 2 depending on if we dump Crayton to make room

Just waiting Adams verification....

Why on earth would be dump Crayton?

And the "I don't think team X can pay someone" argument never pans out

Because he is Jewish? :lmao2:

I never liked the fact that Dallas skipped over him as he went so late in the draft, tbh...He was an electric player at UofM

I wanted Dallas to draft him to potentially return punts

I didn't think he'd turn out this well as a receiver though

They certainly could have payed him... they didn't WANT to pay him. They saw an opportunity to move him for some serious picks - had they not he would have been franchised the second he was eligible for UFA.

Nah, it would have been too much $ @ WR considering Calvin Johnson is better

Right. So they would have just let him walk.

Sure. That would have happened.

Have the Cardinals solved their Boldin situation? Doesn't he become a FA after this season. If so, that leaves Arizona some room to re-sign Breaston.

I fail to see how we would be any better off letting Crayton go and signing Breaston. Wouldn't we be in essentially the exact same position?

Speed. Craytons another chains mover.

If we had Breaston would you trade him for Crayton?

Similar, but not exactly the same. Both are better #3 receivers than they are #2 receivers. I think Crayton accepts that at this point in his career. Has Breaston? Will he want #2 money or even #1 money next season? We really don't know that much about Breaston. He had a very good year last year in the Cardinals wide open system. He did nothing as a receiver his rookie year. Can he repeat what he did last year? We know exactly what Crayton is.

Breaston is younger, so that can make a difference. Crayton will be 31 in 2010 and Breaston will be 27. Crayton is not dynamic, but he is a steady punt returner. Breaston is more explosive.

There will be trade offs. It will come down to money.

My point being, we would still have a glut of possession WR's and receivers with potential.

No, and I wouldn't trade Crayton for Breaston either. Too me they are the same type of receiver. Breaston may be marginally faster, but the whole reason he dropped so much in the draft and was so overshadowed by Manningham was his lack of athleticism. Dont forget that what Breaston does, he does between arguably the best WR tandem in the NFL.

Is that what Dallas has? Roy Williams is not a possession receiver in my opinion. Crayton is. Austin is not. Hurd is. I don't know if two accounts for a glut. I agree that there is a glut of guys with potential or probably better described as a bunch of unproven guys. Get rid of Crayton and Dallas gets rid of their only proven possession receiver. I don't think Breaston is a proven possession receiver yet, but that can change after this season.

I like Breaston, for sure, as a #3 but it's really hard to say just how good a #2 he'd be here when he wouldn't be playing with Boldin and Fitz anymore.

Crayton has had a higher YPC in all five seasons he has played than Breaston has had in either season he has played.
