I have no idea.I understand but why does NFL stats rank QB's by yards was the intention of my question.

Prescott is in the bottom third of the league in passes at or behind the line of scrimmage, with just 17 percent of his attempts in that range, less than the league average of 20.7 percent.I think stats have been posted that show that Dak is NOT a dink and dunk QB relative to the rest of the league.
You mean the Romo evaluation is not complete??????No, but we need to know in order to make financial decisions moving forward . We can't wait until next year to see if Romo can still play.
Look at the bright side, if Tony lights it up, we'll see less and less of these kind of posts.
And he will hit the wall eventually. But I agree, if anybody's gonna mess it up, let it be him.I think you let Dak continue to play until Romo is 100% healthy, and you only start Romo this season if Dak hits the wall and starts to struggle.
NO, Carolina and Cincinnati SUCK.Cowboys are #1 in rushing. The remaining top 5 in rushing is Buff, Tenn, SF and AZ.
Top 5 in passing ; Atl, NO, Wash, Cinn and SD
Top 5 offenses; Atl, N0, Dallas, Car & Cinn.
What do these stats tell us?
Romo will be gun-shy from here on out. Bank on it.
My question is why do we have to throw the ball down field, if it's not a necessity to win, right now?
I don't think even Romo can tell you that...until he gets hit for the first time. I recall he said something similar in 2014 too. So it's a mystery until it's not.Yeah, nobody's really talked about that. It's always if he comes back but what is he going to be like mentally if he does?
Isn't it worth at least one game to see what Romo can do or handle a hit?Yeah, nobody's really talked about that. It's always if he comes back but what is he going to be like mentally if he does?
To me it comes down to the belief that he physically can not play anymore. He can't stay on the field.

Then we can put all of this to rest once and for all. Dak can still come in and save the day or season. Don't we owe Romo that?
There's that hypothetical situation yet againBecause in the playoffs it will be necessary. The only way it wouldn't be is if our defense was on the level of Denver or Minnesota, and they just aren't. I know if we run up against a team like Atlanta in the playoffs, everyone will be clamoring for the "big play" that Tony brings to the table when Julio Jones is exploding for massive gains and we just have Witten falling forward for 5 yards every other play.
I still can't get my hands around how another QB can make team better when your 5-1 with high scoring offense and team is playing passionate football on both sides. Sure you might get 2-3 more throws down the field but what are you giving up? maybe mobility, ability to take hit and most of all the loss of momentum as Romo tries to get back into football shape (Romo has only played in 4 of last 22 games). Now if Dak has two clunker games in row then I think that discussion needs to happen but not before.
I don't know about first 6 games, but here's all of 2014 for Romo vs. Dak in 2016Has anyone done the breakdown?
Compare Romo's first 6 games in 2014 versus Prescott this year in terms of downfield passes, etc.
Romo had less than half as many pass attempts over 20 yards as Aaron Rodgers in 2014. Romo didn't lead the league in passes over 20.Yes...in 2014, tony led the league in passes over 20 yards.
Dak is bottom 1/3
