I dont want to hear anything in this thread about McFadden because I dont think we're gonna pony up that much to move up to get him (as much as I would love to have him). I just want to hear your oppinions on these two on who would be a better fit or compliment to the offense and the Barbarian. I personally would love to have Stewart, I've been following him since he was a prep in Washington State. He would bring some tough running and power to go along with MB3, but maybe slatons slashing style would better suit the run game to add what jones hasn't really consistantly added. What are your thoughts on this?

Neither. If we absolutely must have a RB that early, I'd trade down and take Tashard Choice.

Jonathan Stewart runs with speed and power, I like him behind that big O-line... But I like Mendanhall a little better from the Univ of Illinois.

I don't think Slaton will be a good pro. I'll take Stewart.

That is one thing that is very misleading about him and people dont realize he's a big pack that can plow through the line and is tough to take down but he also runs like a 4.4 forty. I still remember watching a game this season where it took literally 6 defenders to bring him down and they still didnt when the refs had to call the play over. He can also return KO which would be an added bonus

Guys, please remember to use proper nouns before you launch into a post using pronouns and you haven't identified the noun that corresponds with the pronoun.

Who are you talking about, Stewart or Mendenhall?

If Stewart, I think Seattle has its eyes on him. Shaun Alexander is possibly done in Seattle, and they need a replacement.

Id like to see us spend a 3rd or 4th rounder on a guy like Dantrell Savage from Oklahoma St. Seems like he's be a perfect complimentary back to Barber. He ran in the 4.3s when timed at junior college then entered the Big 12 and was a very productive back.

9 straight 100+ yard games, 11 of the last 13 games. Only 2 games under 5 ypc this season. Decent hands out of the backfield and a threat in space. Wouldn't cost a ton (thus allowing us to resign Barber) and wouldn't take a bunch of carries away from Marion either.

Plus our backfield would be The Barbarion and The Savage.

This would give us a potentially upgraded RB situation while still having our first 3 or 4 picks to address other issues.

Sounds like an interesing plan!
