If he declares, it will be very hard to ignore his numbers.

Jonathan Stewart runs with speed and power, I like him behind that big O-line... But I like Mendanhall a little better from the Univ of Illinois.

Mendenhall is a STUD!!!!! I'd take him in round 2 over Slayton or Stewart every day of the week.

I don't think Slaton will be a good pro. I'll take Stewart.

I actually think the opposite, because Slaton has better pure running skills

I'm leery of both however, as both play in offenses that create gaping running lanes...I watched Stewart the last couple of games they played, and he looked average at best...Slaton at least has really quick feet and breakaway speed

Slaton just seems a lot more limited to me at the next level.

he does? how exactly? he's had over 200 carries every season...he's caught 64 passes in 3 seasons, scored 50 rushing tds and 5 more on receptions...he's never lost a fumble (in fact their stats show he has never fumbled at all) and he has tremendous speed and quickness and has a multitude of 50+ yd plays running and receiving

is he as big as Barber? no he isnt...but he'd be a nice complement and is a game breaker...personally I want McFadden and I also like Felix Jones, but if we didnt make any draft day moves and ended up with Slaton I'd be pretty pleased...

I think both guys have a chance to have very good NFL careers and would love to be in a position to grab either one.

It's very fortunate for us that this Draft appears to be rich and deep with respect to the RB position.

We can probably get a quality RB even in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Just to sum up some of the names, in no particular order,

D Mac
Mendenhall
Stewart
Rice
Choice
Smith
Slaton
M Hart
F Jones
Allen Patrick
J Davis

Did I forget anyone?

Stewart played the last few games with turf toe, which Eric Dickerson said was the most painful injury a running back can have.

I like him, Ray Rice of Rutgers, or Jonathon Stewart of Oregon with one of our first rounders, preferably the 2nd or our 2nd round pick if RBs are falling.

I am fond of Ray Rice myself, I think he will be a solid NFL RB.

My Wish List (based on position/probability/value)

1.Mendenhall--Has the entire package.(late first/second rounder)
2.Savage--Best complimentary option to Barber (third/fourth rd pick)
3.Kevin Smith--Kind of reminds me of Ryan Grant/Dorsey Levens running style (late first/second)
4.Jamaal Charles--Explosive, but his blocking ability needs some work.(third/fourth rd)
5.James Davis--another burner and a bit larger than Charles (third rd)

He reminds me of Emmitt. A lot in fact.

Hes got a little Emmitt in him.

He reminds me a lot of Michael Turner though. I couldn't figure out why Turner fell so far in the draft. I guess it was because he played at N. Illinois but he was a bad *** there.

The thing I like about Rice is his durability more than anything. Thats one of the major concerns for a RB at this level and I think he'll be straight.

Hopefully Charles will stay at UT for next season. If he does I think he will give himself a chance to go as a 1st rd pick in the 2009 draft
