Don't know if any of you watched the game but Smith was covered as tight as you can cover him and he still made 5 catches like that[8 total]. I mean I think on a few plays you could have stopped the game and asked the Cincy db's where would you want to be before Delhomme throws the ball and they still would have been in worse coverage than they were on a few plays that Smith made. Newman is my fav defensive player but if Smith is making plays like that no one can cover him, end of story. When healthy, hes the best wide out in the game. What is astounding is he is only 5'9 and he's out jumping the 6 plus foot defensive players.

TNew has stopped him in the past. I'm sure he can do it again.

They only scored 14 points. Doesn't matter if he's unstoppable if they can't score - for whatever reason.

if you seen some of the catches he made you would have been amazed. You cant throw him the ball on every down.

He also has bad ribs and may not even play, and certainly won't be 100%.

Seattle did well defending him in the NFC Championship game last year.

I saw some of them - he ended up with at least 8, I think.

His team was stopped today, but he played a great game.

I think he's the best wideout in the game today..just edging out Holt off his overall impact.

Props to him.

We have the best covercorner in football

come on HH pay attention, the best cover CB in football is Shawn Merriman

he does it all...the league has never seen a player like him

I'm pretty sure thats why he didnt have any sacks today, because the SD coaches decided to have him take away one of the Cheifs WR's in coverage

Cincy does not

We do? I like Newman but Bailey is the best corner in the NFL right now.

Bailey gambles too much

I wasnt convinced either, but after his play so far this year, I believe Newman is the best straight up cover man in the league

I don't know if you watched the game but it didn't matter because the Panthers lost.

I don't know if Dallas will shut down Smith again. That is a huge task. Cincy gave up receptions and yards, but did not give up TDs. I will take that when Dallas faces the Panthers. They also can't let anyone else for the Panthers score any easy TDs. If you make the Panthers drive the field, I think they will make mistakes.

I think Smith is one of the best in the league. I would trade him for Glenn in a heartbeat.

Newman is the best shutdown cornerback in the NFL, bar none.

Bailey gives up catches, yards and touchdowns, but he makes some big plays, too. He's a notch above DeAngelo Hall in both regards, but Bailey is NOT a shutdown cornerback.

I watched the game, and was very disappointed in the way Cincy schemed to play him. No one pressed him at the LOS. He was allowed to run anywhere he wanted unabated. Cincy's was determined to corrall him, rather than attempt to cover him. Smith continually found the soft spot in Cincy's zone coverage and made most of the catches. But Smith had several, at least 3, drops and he also bruised his ribs late in the game. I don't care who you are, if a team allows you to run wherever you want and just decides eliminate your RAC yards, you're usually going to have a good game. I want to see what he does against Henry/Newman who will get into his head, by hitting him at the LOS, and get him frustrated. We'll see next week.
