Steve Young on Romo

I was coming home from work and was listening to a sports radio show where Steve Young was on. He is pretty funny with some of the comments that he makes throughout the year. They brought up Romo going to Cabo and asked him to comment on it. He praised Romo for having the "it" factor and believes that he can be a great qb in this league. He reported that there are not many qb's in this league that he can say that about. However, he did say that perception is 90% of what people would think and why would Romo put himself in that situation in the first place. He questioned why he would put more pressure on himself with the publicity that will happened especially since it is Jessica Simpson. He went on saying that if it was no name person, it would probably not have been a big deal. He did say that if Cowboys win then it is no big deal but if they lose, people will be talking about this for the next 6 months. You don't want that kind of pressure. Qb in the NfL is already tough enough.
I know that it has been talk to death but just thought you guys would like to know another perspective on the matter. As for me, the guy can do whatever he wants; nobody should tell him how to run his life.

Based on the summary posted, Young never said Romo doesn't care what the perception of him is.

Personally, I don't think Romo cares what the perception of him is. He has bounced back many times before.

Winning in the NFL playoffs is what pressure is all about, not having some weekend with a hot woman. People in the media talked trash about the guy all off season last year and he didn't go to Cabo with country chick during the bye during the season. Romo should play well this week. All this crap goes away in a few days time.

I personally think the the only reason this Mexico trip gets the attention is because of Ms Simpson, and I don't see this affecting Tony's preparations for the game. Like he said with all the requests for his time when he is in Dallas it has to be refreshing to get away from that circus.

But one thing I've noticed in this thread and in others is the reference to Cabo. I was under the impression he was spotted in Cancun which in on the Gulf, Cabo is located at the southern tip of Baja.

Does anyone know exactly where in Mexico this vacation took place?

I totally agree, if Romo or Phillips had come out with a believeable explanation of why the last four games were so "unRomo" like . So bad, really bad, 24 rating bad, then Jessica would be the Darling of Dallas and no one would be blaming her for what the fans are not being told about why Romo was so bad. He went 10 games excellent , then fell totally off the wagon. WHY! Those bad games were not preception, they were heart stopping BAD!

Is she attractive? Yes. Visually anyhow. One thing I find extremely ugly is double digit IQs and Jessica being a complete ditz lacking any type of common sense turns me off. I don't think I could spend more than 15 minutes in a room with her if she were talking. I'm dumbfounded that Romo can.
