What is frustrating is how close we have been for several years, especially this one. Most of us could taste it this year after everything lined up in our favor. Hell, even some hardcore critics were on the bandwagon and what happened..........
Yeah, I thought we would finally at least make it to the NFC Championship game.. What a let down!!!

Steve Young nailed it. Until a coach has complete authority over the team nothing will change. Jerry will have to fire MM because he has setup him up for failure.
Then bring another coach and step down from GM spot.
Wait, it’s all Daks fault. Just get rid of him, and all is well.

I don't think Jerry is the meddler or control freak he's made out to be. Even Jimmy Johnson has backed Jerry up in that regard well before he, Jimmy, got into the Ring of Honor. McCarthy brought in his own coaching staff. He kept Kellen Moore - his decision. Then he decided to call plays himself - his decision. Seems he got most of what he wanted. I think Jerry the owner & pretend GM and Stephen the vice-president are one of the most inept and business distracted executive management duos in the entire league. If anything we need a quality, objective full time GM that's not in the family circle. Also are we truly drafting geniuses and acquiring the best free agents and coaches? There is a marked personnel difference with post season caliber teams vs. the Cowboys and it goes beyond having a superior starting quarterback and savvier head coach.

:hammer:

Case in point... would a real GM let us walk into the booby trap we did with LB and NT this year?
Wouldn't we be spending more early draft picks on Offensive Line instead of reaching for DT and TE?
It's a consensus thing on all teams... scouts, GMs, Coaches... but someone who has a fine understanding of roster personnel (like Jimmy and Parcells) needs to be there to tell people yes and no.
Instead, we have wildcatting Jerry, and Stephen has to talk his old man down from drafting Johnny Manziel, who any scout with half a brain has pegged as a bust.
Great businessman, great marketing guy, great PR guy, and not the meddler if you let him have his facetime fun, but the team suffers not having a strong GM running the show.

Jerry looks in the mirror and then takes everyone behind the woodshed…then he counts his money and repeats the same thing

...this guy cowboy hater, been saying that for 20 something years now.

He still lives in infamy from 90's Cowboy beat-downs.

As for his statement. Jerry lets MM run the show however he wanted.

Doesn't meddle as much any more. He just signs the paychecks.

Cowboys are just in HEAP of bad luck. Its most glaring, because who they are.

.......I agree, that was HUGE coaching FALLOUT.
It cant be just coaching. These guys are professional world class athletes, done this all their lives.
It was a perfect effort by nearly every single person in that team.

Did you enjoy the 1995 victory? :thumbup:Jerry was front and center. Sorry
The 95 victory was bitter sweet, to me.

Sweet because we won.
Bitter because the team very clearly was on it's last legs in no small part because of the dysfunction Switzer, empowered by Jerry, brought.

That game could be used to illustrate the beginning of what we still see to this day.

Nonsense, the Boys won despite Barry Switzer being the coach. The difference was you had leaders on the team who were brought up under Jimmy's system, and they held other players accountable. Players like Aikman, Smith, Irvin, Allen, Sanders, Woodson, and even Haley to an extent. The current Cowboys have no one that holds other players accountable. Sure, they get together before the game and have their little pep rally, but that's where it ends. These players know if the coach says no, they can run to Jerry and get a yes.
I was about to post the same thing. Those players had work ethic instilled in them and were natural born leaders. Guys like Micah, while talented, aren’t leaders. Henceforth the sulking when things don’t go well. Draft men, not boys, and work their ***** off and make them earn playing time.

The worst thing that ever happened to the Dallas Cowboys is Jerry Jones. The absolute worst thing. I don't care that we won 3 titles with Jimmys team when he first purchased the team but the last 30 years have been horrible. The utter destruction of a once proud franchise.

Not sure, i dont know what went on in the days before. It sure didnt look like it, right?
Did MM tell dak to throw into triple coverage?
My point is it was not just coaches. Total team failure including players.

Like he’s saying that something we didn’t know for the past 20 years. What coach other than a startup is going to want to put their reputation on the line without total control. I has been Mike Murray.

there are stories that sam williams and turpin was busy planning victory party before game dont knowif thats true but if so thats a coaching issue somewhat. No the team wasnt ready to play that was apparent from drive 1. Neither side of the ball

Dak dont need help doing stupid stuff hes plenty capable but what kind of route has your 2 receivers that close together (on pick 6). What kind of defensive coach doesnt adjust the gameplan after you see your CB's are getting gashed in zone.

so no they the coaches didnt prepare this team but youre right there is accountbility on all the players as well. Our starts didnt show up at all. Fergy gets my game ball.
