Steve young even if he’s right here is not someone I’m gonna listen to when it comes to Dallas. He’s always hated us.

Are you saying players don't create the culture? Lol
I am saying players will create what they can within the limitations or lack thereof put in place. But in most cases, players take their cues from their leaders most often the coach. Dallas has a weird structure where that guy is the owner, not the coach.

It's mindnumbing that some of you want to ignore a sizeable chunk of evidence here.

so again, if we got CGJ and Patrick queen they'd lead a gutless defense like we saw Sunday? If the answer is yes no need to even reply.

So…I made several posts warning other posters that we could lose to Green Bay. I watched with a friend who grew up in Plano and predicted that we would lose because we were doing interviews during the week, our sidelines are full of guys making jokes and congratulating themselves instead of talking ball in good/bad times, penalties and Dak going deer-in-headlights. I even called it would get ugly based on Michael Irving’s axiom “If you want to beat a team, go at their weakness. If you want to break a team, go at their strength.” I don’t even think GB broke Dak…Dak broke Dak.

That said, Steve’s assessment is THE WHY. These guys are local stars and tell themselves they are great - ALL OF THEM. Dak, Micah, CeeDee…but they haven’t earned it. Dak is a culture warrior who needs to focus on FOOTBALL…not being a model citizen. FOOTBALL. Not being Man of the Year. FOOTBALL. Not team leadership offsites…FOOTBALL. If you win, you don’t have to do any of that…stuff.

Jerry is the key of enabling all of this theatricality. The stadium. The freaking stupid glass in the stadium. The dancers. The theater like atmosphere the team comes out to. The media circus. ALL OF IT is too much for young impressionable men…who don’t have a Jimmy Johnson to demand excellence.

I hate Steve, but that's it in totality.
Steve Young got hit in the head a lot back in his day.
Always compared him to Romo in that respect, they played the game before it became touch football for QBs.

It's good to vent, but save your breath, Jerry is totally fine with a 12-5 season.

Yes
Look at Micah, what he was saying when he arrived and who he is now
All culture
Micah is full of crap. Micah is also for all his off field talk quiet and meek where it matters. He was that way even as a rookie. How can you change a culture if you're not even a leader? Dlaw is more of a leader than micah can dream of (that's bad). Jerry made micah a mouse on the field? Why did Dez show more fire than micah? I mean, I know the answer but think what you want. Jerry Jerry Jerry

Imagine thinking this guy would become a quiet non confrontational player because of Jerry Jones. Smh

We'd still have lost that game. And we'd have another playoff collapse on our resume.

Why? What's the constant throughout this ridiculously dry 25+ year run? Two different defenders aren't changing the culture of this team. Two different defenders aren't washing away the underlying issues that face the franchise.

Again, how can you ignore the fact that there have been literally hundreds of different players, coaches and front office personnel over the last 25 years and then not think that the ONLY constant over that period is somehow not the biggest problem?

I don't agree with that. We've never had 2 pro bowl caliber defenders in the back 7 that want a fight so no, I don't agree

Well when we get those players and I see it I'll blame Jerry. Until then I see a bunch of betas on defense that just want to play ball.

Young is correct but I don’t agree with the star on the helmet thing. This isn’t college or high school.

You wont know it because when they come here they will become that

You really think that players like Martin and Dak and Zeke and D Law and on and on just didnt have the desire or will to win? LOL. They lost that here and Queen and CGJ would have become the same

I don’t think he’s “totally fine”. I think that’s hyperbolic. He’s a billionaire who could be doing what every other owner does. He is obsessed with the team…that’s our problem. He won’t leave the team alone. He wants to win, but he doesn’t get that he’s in the way of winning. It’s the Gordian Knot.
