I knew when I got home I would see a thread talking about steve young and steve smith!!

lol

I watched steve young talk to smith in the endzone for like 15 minutes. I didnt see him talk to any cowboys players.

Steve smith was to blame on that newman pick, delhomme will take the fall, but that was on smith.

Just like the missed fade was on bennett, that was a terrible bit of ***ort and route from bennett.

It's funny how that with him no longer being able to make fun of Emmitt's mind-numbing rambles, Young looks like a complete fool.

The best part:

Just after the game Young and Millen said the Cowboys took away Steve Smith with bracket coverage. Then at the end Millen starts salivating over Smith and says something like Smith is his favorite player in the NFL. Young jumps in and agrees and declares Smith 100% unstoppable. Then Stuart Scott jumps in and says: "except when you use bracket coverage right?"

:lmao:

I didn't watch Steve and Millen, but it sure seems like they took some odd stances given the way the game shook out.

Millen's never seen a WR he didn't like or wouldn't draft in the top 5 picks. He's another idiot. He makes Jerry Jones look like Bill Polian. I would take Jerry over Millen any day of the week as a GM.

When Millen was interviewing TChoice at the end and was making fun of his TC endzone celebration he said he could of done a better job celebrating. I was praying that Choice was going to say he could do a better job managing and NFL roster but he didnt :(

Too bad Choice has class and wouldn't do that. I on the other hand would say yeah I think you should draft another WR, and I hear Joey Harrington is still looking for a job.

Its because on the next play, he will throw an int. basicially, hes very up and down. We need romo to be consistently good. hes not there yet.

Wrong,

He is consisttently good. He does have a few bad games but he is consistently good. Some of you guys want him to be perfect and do everything from passing to catching it too.

Steve Young is an idiot. My favorite Steve Young line:

"How are the Cowboys going to score enough points to win the division?"

The Cowboys have scored 86 points in 3 games. Only the Saints, Vikings, Eagles, and Ravens have scored more. :lmao2:

Exactly where did that one come from. How are they going to score enough points. They freaking left at least 7 on the table with the missed FG and the playcalling on the goal line.

How about the " I don't like penalties called that don't effect the play. Mushin's pushoff did not effect the play"

Are you freaking kidding me Steve Young!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting - that says a lot (Young not talking to Cowboy players).

Agreed that pick was a gift to TNew from Smith. On another note, Newman's tackling was atrocious last night, something to watch going forward.

Steve Young hates the fact that the Cowboys slapped the taste out of his mouth to reach the Super Bowl twice and needed a gift from the refs to save his *** from a 3rd one. He's a punk *** *****.

This is a mother flowering fact!
Still pisses me off. Spotting them 21 pts in first 12 mins of game........ sigh~~

This kid is something special, not great, but special. One of the role players and contributors that keeps the team lose. He reminds me of one of the Yankee players(either Texiera or Swisher) and how they are playing loose.

Great addition to this team. The Choice is Simple.

He is not consistently good. He is flat out extraordinary (or was with TO) on many occasions - terribly inconsistent in a number of games (horribly reckless with the ball in certain series and then heroic in others), occasionally terrible (last week, Philly 12/08) and occasionally a good bus driver, taking what the defense gives him like he did last night or in that Detroit game (in 07 I think).

I don't see what the problem is. This team does not need a lot of pats on the back because they are easily lulled into complacency. They need to be told they stink and told often so they will play hard and focused every week. Keep up the good work Steve!

The problem is that the announcers of the game and commentators should be unbiased so fans get a fair representation of the game and don't have to switch channels to find that.

Sorry, as much as Aikman gets ribbed on here, everyone should use him as an example of how to discuss the game in a professional manner without your bias' showing up.

I never find Young's comments to be very enlightening. And, on another note, Jaws CAN offer interesting comments. He's just not consistent.

For instance, he criticized Romo for having -- in effect -- happy feet, sliding off to the right in the pocket (in the Giants game?). Except the line was being pushed back directly in front of him, so he had to slide over. Then on the next live play, Romo does the exact same thing, only sliding left in the pocket and making a nice throw. And Jaws' comment: "That's what I like about Tony Romo."

Huh?

So he's like Michael Irvin then?

Romo played well enough for Dallas to win.

But, man, NO MORE of those throw it to the OPPOSITE side of the field when scrambling on the other side.. LOL> Whoa man!

Steve Young's opinion is as about as important as Denver fan's not respecting Dallas.

This is typical Steve Young. He hates Dallas cause they owned his *** for two straight NFC Championships and most likely would have for a 3rd straight had that PI been called on Deion late in the game. It's been painfully clear, for years, that he holds that grudge and is a terrible analyst because of it.

Michael Irvin is a sideshow and everyone knows it. He does not put himself out there as unbiased and neither does anyone who employs him.

Young and ESPN put him out there as a commentator of the game.

I think it is different.

Sorry, great play by Romo. If Farve did that it would be high praise from everybody. He knew where the defenders were and it was in no way dangerous. NO defender was close!
