Steven Jackson instead of JJ?

Castillo like all 2005 Charger draft picks had steroid issues, no thank you, one Leon Lett is enough for my lifetime.

He has had no problems since the draft and if only we would have been so lucky that Lett's problem was steroids and not what it was.

Why throw him the ball when you can throw it to TO, TG, and Witten? JuJo is the last of the cowboys skilled players I want to see catching passes.

I for one wouldn't mind seeing more passes thrown to JJ. Let him dance around in the flats against a LB and see if he can pile up some YAC. Guy by the name of Faulk had some success w/ this a while back.

In 95 Lett was suspended for violating the substance abuse policies, steroids were his reported offense.

I wouldn't put him in the same category as Marshall Faulk but he certainly can do some things after the catch as evident in the Colts game...

Funny, because it was Jone's screen pass that essentially won the game against the Colts...

I didn't say he was horrible at it, just that I'd rather see the better recievers catching the ball.

JuJo did make a great play on that one though, but the blocking was pretty good too.

I wasn't, but yeah, I agree that he should be utilized more in the passing game.

Actually, I think I would like to see next preseason an experiment where Barber's the featured back and JJ is the change of pace 3rd down back. I'm not suggesting this to be a permanent change (cause why fix something that ain't broke), but it might be interesting to see how they react, and what better time than the preseason when nothing counts.

I wouldn't change a thing. I do think JuJo needs to get back to hitting the hole harder though, like he was earlier in the year. Hopefully the lesser load and 10 days off will recharge his batteries.

Interesting thing about Julius Jones, he hasn't had a monster game yet this year.
Will he breakout and have a couple down the stretch?
I would think so...

You know what I have a feeling that's what Parcells is saving him for, we all know the guy can put up all world numbers if given the amount of carries... Look out NFL if Jones gets hot down the stretch along with the already present passing game!

JJ is playing good right now, what the hell are we talking about here?

The past is the past, we dont have time to regret...JJ is our man and you and I both know we were not thinking this his rookie year.

Dont mess with JJ...He can still get much better.

I remember it as being pot.

But I was stoned at the time.

yep, couldnt agree more...and the numbers are pretty similar even though JJ splits time with Barber and comes out of games on almost all 3rd downs, Jackson stays in virtualyl the entire game...

Read that Parcells told JJ he was saving him because of our playing 3 games in 12 days. Now JJ (and rest of he team) is getting a rest (they've been off since Friday) will report to VR tomorrow morning hopefully with new spring in their legs and bruised bodies recovered.

With our 7-4 record and currently 1 game lead over the Giants, you better believe the master manipulator/motivator will be running on all cylinders. He'll subtley remind the team of big loss to the Giants in our own stadium & their trash talking during that game and more recently. After we beat the Giants on Sunday, he'll get that ready for Peyton and his Saints.

Real interesting 2 week stretch coming up where we must show our mettle to prove we belong at the top of the NFC (except for the Bears). If we get our job done rest of this season, I expect we will eventually end up playing the Bears in Chicago. Must admit that game concerns me cause of the way their defense plays takeaway ball. On the other hand, their offense plays give away ball.

It is the receiving yards which separate the two right now. SJ is the more complete back. Would I rewind history and take Jackson given the way everything has worked out? No.

If you guys will remember, Stephen Jackson was one of the guys we passed up and took Julius Jones instead. Actually, instead of getting Steven in the first round, we traded the Bill for their 2nd round pick that year (which snagged Julius), and their first round pick the next year (which got us Marcus Spears).

I think when you add Marcus Spears to JJ, that's a better deal than just Steven Jackson. However, if you were just comparing the two running backs, would you rather have Julius Jones or Steven Jackson?

Don't forget a 4th for Sean Ryan. :)

We got a 6th from the Jets for him! That trade is still giving us players.

thinking more about the Antonio Bryant trade for Larry Johnson that was rumored to be a possibility way back when...............

Add LJ to this mix...........heck, Bledsoe might still be starting qB............:banghead:

Add LJ and we'd have never gotten Barber and JJ would be sitting.

Though LJ is an absolute animal.

Behind our pourous OL, who knows.

JJ is getting a lot less chances to score TD's then Jackson is. He is also almost splitting time with MB. So to compare the stats one has to ask why has Jackson done so little as the featured back?

I like JJ he just isnt an elite RB, hes a nice player but he doesnt create much for himself and in my opinion he leaves a lot of yards on the field. Barber is just too slow to be a full time guy, if JJ had Barber's vision or Barber had JJ's speed we might have a stud. Good RBs can make something out of nothing and break long runs more then once a year. Spears has been solid but not sure he has shown himself to be worthy of his 1st round draft status. Tough call because you never know who they might of drafted in the 2nd round had they gone with Jackson in the first that year, they might of gotten a DE as good as Spears but probably not.
