Stewart got emails about blitzing

Let me guess. Because they are soft, dumb, over rated, unmotivated, scared, overweight, under fed, thinking about who they will vote for, worrying if Jessica was at the game, out of gum, and worried about snow in Denver.

you forgot they were thinking too much about what party they were going to go to next....

Yeah I did. I must have been thinking too much about the fact I wasn't invited again. Had my party hat and kazoo all shined and ready too.

ok...if that was the case...then why did our 1st team offense not produce a play over 10 yards?

Maybe Cutler passed on his diabetes to Romo.....

That's B.S glad I'm not a D Coordinator. They would not have liked the reply e-mail. Last time I checked "pre season" tickets are not discounted. Glad to know that a "code of conduct" is in place for these game. Nice that the NFL does everything possible not to call these games exactly what they are, exhibition games nothing more nothing less yet we still pay as if it was a "real" game.

Well then someone needs to tell the Steelers, because I watch them and they started blitzing off the bus. The deadskins did alot of blitzing also.

Rewatch the game.

Denver regularly had 8 men in the box.

Yep... you could tell we were playing extremely basic on defense.

And here's the thing: Wade Phillips defense has been and always will be predicated on pressure.

Playing his defense without pressure is a little like just standing around out there. I would guess that is why we lacked some intensity on that side of the ball. They couldn't do what they've been coached to do and it seemed a little too much like playing at half speed.

They all had their leash tied to a tree last night...

I know that tackling shouldn't have anything to do with that, but it all goes together.

When we can let the dogs out, things will come together, IMO.

I'm ok with this (Jones even said it at halftime too, that we were playing vanilla) but that doesnt excuse the lousy tackling and mediocre run defense

Calvin Watkins E-mail News tips

"He said that he got some E-mail from some offensive coordinators saying this must be you're first time being an defensive coordinator because you broke the etiquette of just playing vanilla. We did a lot of base stuff. I would have loved to really get after them. But we played what was called."

If this is a result of "code of conduct" (let's just serve vanilla, call off the dogs) then you just have to lay in the bed you just made. Don't be complaining about this and that.

Said coach Wade Phillips, “I’m not happy overall. Defensively, we set the tone which was a bad tone because we didn’t come after them.”

Well duh Wade

I am disappointed in that we can't put pressure with our front 3 defensive lineman and 2 line backers. I hope we don't have to blitze all the time to get some semblance or pressure on the QB. Best pressure is when the DL beats the OL consistently without blitzing. I don't see that in our DL as I had high hopes of seeing that this year from reading all the press clippings about Tank, Ratliff, Cantly & Hatcher. May be once the season starts, I might get to see their real potential (hope so)
