ok i’m probably going to get smacked here but how many more games would we win with matt ryan as the back up QB. someone to help Dak read the field in games and push him in practice.

I see some guys that I think could be worth kicking the tires on. At least to see if they could help with the depth/question marks we have at some key areas such as RB, CB and OG.
I guess they are waiting to see how these new and/or young guys look in TC and if need be, will make moves accordingly about half way through.

A lot of solid vets on that list. I’d rather have Cook than Jones if he can be had cheap or no cap busting contract.

Trey Lance was drafted in 2023…..
Bryce Young and CJ Stroud were drafted in 2023

Kenny Pickett was the highest drafted QB in 2022

Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Trey Lance went 1-2-3 in 2021.

He’s been around long enough that he’s eligible for a contract extension after this year. People are already calling Wilson a bust from the same draft class, and Lance has 1 career start. If Purdy is healthy week 1, Lance may not start this year either

A lot of good names on that list... but, honestly, how many would realistically make our 53 in 2023?

Cooks.
Not even sure about Hopkins at this point in his career. But, as a 3 or 4, on a team friendly, one year deal... yeah, he'd make the roster.
We are going a different direction at OG. More athletic, good feet, guys that are a bit more like OT's. I think they have guys that fit that mold that they actually like.
I think that the team is happier with the LB group than a lot of media heads and fans are right now.
Talent shouldn't be our problem this year... then again, it hasn't been the problem the last couple of years.

How many of these guys want to grind it out and compete for a spot on the roster at this point in their careers?

Heck, we will probably end up with a couple of these guys on our practice squad... which is great!

If healthy and without Jerry Jones as owner, GM, and defacto Head Coach, this team makes the playoffs no problem no diggity no doubt.

I meant 2021 and that he was 23. He’s 23 years old. He’s not a bust yet. Wentz is 31.

Did Gould's leg fall off or something, why aren't we kicking the tires there?
Yes, his leg fell off. We'd be better off re-signing Maher. But I expect us to sign one of the USFL kickers (Matthew Coghlin, 95% FG, 100% PATs or Brandon Aubrey 93% FG, 100% PATs), both have missed only one kick. Gould was 27 of 32 this year (84.4%), including 7 of 11 from 40-49.

LB, RB, CB would be the areas I hope the team would consider a veteran.

If all these guys were signed to a single team what is their record and do they make the playoffs?
Reminds me of expansion teams back in the 60's when the Cowboys were formed. That's the way they started off acquiring talent, got everybody's misfits and has beens. Miracle that Landry/Brandt/Schramm had them playing championship caliber football on his 6th year just a step from SB, while dumb and dumber are on their 28th still hoping to spin lucky sevens.

I counted 56 players.
Would be interesting to see this two months from now -- August 29th - the new massive cutdown date from the maximum 90 down to the 53:
a) how many sign up with a team during training camp \ preseason;
b) the number of players who call it a career, and step away from the league uring TC\PS;
c) who bides their time once 2023 gets underway...waiting for a team to reach out to them midseason or later.
