Still holding onto Cooper in the offseason?

Naw because we'll get probably a 3rd round compensatory when Gallup leaves also. He'll probably sign for close to Amari when he leaves anyways. Gallup is going to be gone.
Ridiculous. Gallup will get no where near what Cooper gets ($20 mil/season). Stop kidding yourself. Gallup will get around $10 mil/season, +$1/$2 mil more per season at the most.

He'll get at least $15/mil from a dumb team like the Jaquars.. I hope he gets paid personally.

Michael Gallup has only reached 1,000+ yards receiving in a season 1 time. He averages 819 yards / season with 5+ TDs. Everyone sees he's clearly a very good #2 WR, not a #1. No team is dumb enough to pay $15 mil/year for a #2 WR.

Gallup is a yearly 1K yards receiving WR.

If CeeDee keeps improving and still leads all WRs in yards by the end of this season, he will prove he's our new #1 WR. This would be bad for Cooper, since he and his overpaid contract suddenly can become expendable and put on the cutting block if Gallup agrees to stay for a much cheaper contract (say around $10 mil/year). That's a savings of over $10 million/year for the Cowboys which could be used to keep at least 2 other veterans (say someone like Schultz and LVE). The same story goes for D-Law and his overpaid contract. Gregory can have the franchise tag placed on him if he and the Cowboys don't come to a contract extension agreement.
If, being the key word. Coop is a true number one with exceptional route running abilities.....you don't let a guy like that walk for Gallup.....

Exactly, keep Coop....Gallups come a dime a dozen

There is a salary cap in play, Coach. CeeDee is showing he's this year's #1 WR. Cowboys are in a huge salary cap bind for next year with 21 key players becoming free agents at the end of this season. If the team wants to keep this playoff capable team intact, major financial cuts will have to be made. No way can this team afford to keep two #1 WRs. Better to keep a cheaper very good #2 while teaming him up with the emerging new and young #1.

Doesn't take away from Coop being a much better player than Gallup.....I'll let Stephen worry about the cap.

CD is good, really good....but he's immature and drops to many easy balls. He's not a number one yet.

22 million be used elsewhere? This has always been a hot topic. It will certainly depend on Gallup. In my opinion we no longer need to pay Cooper 22 million when Lamb as the new #1. I try to sign Gallup for a reasonable price.

We have already crossed this bridge with Irvin and Harper. They were both better when they played together.

Honestly I'd try to trade him amd sign Gallup. It's not popular but mKes too much sense. With his pay we can get 94 and 13 back plus some

Cooper is more talented. No denying that. But Cooper's production in Dallas is not that much better than Gallup’s 819 yards plus 5 TDs average per season.

Cooper averages out to 850 yards / season with an average of 6 TDs.

Is it worth continuing to pay $20+ million/year for a WR when your #2 WR has similar production and could be kept for cheaper?

CeeDee is averaging 82 yards receiving/game (currently leading all Cowboys receivers with 497 yards and 4 TDs), while he's on pace to catch for over 1,400 yards and at least 8+ TDs.

This is after CeeDee went for over 900 receiving yards and a team tying 5 TDs last year his rookie year. Clearly, CeeDee is becoming or already is this team's #1 WR.

If Dallas sees themselves in a position where they may be forced to make big contract cuts after this season, Cooper might be the odd man out.

How good would his numbers be without Coop? Cooper is one of the best receivers I have ever seen....his technique is flawless.....some fans get to caught up with the salary cap, I just worry about talent and let the FO handle that....just like they did with Dak....we'll probably be talking about cutting him in a year or two because he's too expensive!!

I dont see what that has to do with anything.

Its about roster and salary cap management. Passing game is in great hands with Lamb and Gallup. Time to move the 22 million allocated to the receiving corps over to a place of need.

Only need 2 out of those 3 guys for a dynamic passing attack. Don't need all 3.

Its unpopular with people that can only think one dimensionally. If were building a team here, its the smart move. Its either Gallup going or Cooper going after this season. To me it comes down to what price Gallup wants and can you trade Cooper and for what.

Team is better off with Gallup, Lamb, Gregory, Shultz then it is with Lamb, Gallup, Cooper and no Shultz or Gregory.

I've posted 2 game's highlights production from this season where Cooper is single covered throughout both while CeeDee is seen being double covered, yet CeeDee is the one ending up with better production.

Cooper isn't going anywhere. Gallup is a great complementary target but the Cowboys can re-sign Cedrick Wilson for far less than what Gallup will command and still have an explosive trio with Coop and Lamb.
