I wouldn’t necessarily go that far but I feel ya.
I thought the Lions were idiots for taking that kid and still think Atlanta was dumb drafting Robinson. I just think a true 3 down back with CeeDee and Ferguson would be awesome.

No RB in the history or RB's can have success without a strong OL, just watch the Bills. Our LT is an oft injured hall of fame to be LT, who we have yet to address the elephant in the room about. Our LG is terrific...Our RT is gonna get Dak killed..Our RG just stole money from Jerry, but had to be paid because he has been all that to this franchise throughout his career. Travis Fredrick anybody?

Good point about Zeke. I heard he was willing to take a pay cut to stay. It's a shame we didn't take him up on it.
He wasn't taking that big of a cut. If the Cowboys offered half of what he was making that would have been too much. And there would have been rioting in the streets.

The running backs had only 16 caries for a 2.8 yard average. That’s horrible and pretty much been this way all year. It takes a Herculean effort by the offense just to keep it close. McMcarthy’s offense is stagnant. Teams have adjusted. Combine that with just horrible play by the offensive offensive line and I’m shocked we were even close.

Defense was solid in this game only giving up 20 pts to Miami. Don’t blame them at all. No QB in the NFL can consistently win in the NFL without a threat of a running game. The Cowboys don’t have that. Teams don’t even play the run against the Cowboys. They know they have to throw so play accordingly. And teams are getting pressure with only 4 rushing lineman!

There is a positive to this game although I’m not preaching any moral victory. But they did show some grit in the 2nd half. I saw some fire by both sides of the ball and Dak led them back to the lead with 3 something left. But too little too late.

The coaches, especially the offensive coaches(MM), need to take a step back and realize they can’t just throw the ball on every down. They need to commit to the run. At least try harder to get it going.

If they can continue to show the fire they showed in the 2nd half and fix the o-lines woes AND run the ball better, they can still go far. :starspin:
I said this multiple times in the off season that Pollard is not that guy. He cannot carry the load, he cant run inside. Dont sign him. But i got shouted down by homers like you. Dont come crying now

You guys did the same thing with supporting Garrett way way after it was obvious he was garbage

Now youre doing the same with Mccarthy and Dak

These guys cannot get us to a SB
Time to move on

I can't put my finger on Pollard. I feel like he's a solid back inthe NFL but clearly can't carry the load with a subpar offensive line which we currently have. Tyron Smith is a hall of famer but he's not dependable week in and out & Zack Martin is hall of fame but is getting pushed back when facing elite defenders. Those two have seen better days but need to be thinking replacement sooner rather than later. Center is Average at best, Steele looks pedestrian out there and Tyler Smith has some upside.

Dallas need to fix the trenches via draft because O- linemen are definitely a premium in today's NFL and no team is letting go of elite lineman. Dallas need to draft talent instead investing in damaged goods inthe free agency.

I don't mind resigning Pollard but his price tag has to come down next year because if I'm going to invest money in a runningback, I'll shoot for Derrick Henry in free agency atleast I know he'll produce and command 8 inthe box which allows 88 not to be bracketed

The biggest problem we have at RB is a rookie who fumbles the ball on the goal line.

The Cowboys had multiple goals after last season:
- Reduce turnovers
- Install a "power running game"
- Reduce penalties
- Improve the run defense
McCarthy publicly commented on most of this. The run defense is kind of inferred from the Mazi pick.

The team fixed the turnovers and that has improved them. When Hankins is playing, the run defense is fine. When he isn't, it isn't.

The big issue with the team is the penalties and the lack of a run game. For the run game, I'm not sure who to blame. McCarthy for play design. Solari for blocking scheme. The RB's? The OL? Its probably a combination of all of the above.

IMO, if this team had a good run game and controlled the stupid penalties it would be a contender. That isn't the case though so we are likely looking at a playoff exit.

The cowboys lose in trenches too often for any back to have prolonged success but I’d argue that RB was more important than a TE with questionable hands and DT whose slow off the ball but who knows maybe by 2025 they’ll be solid starters

Merry Christmas

I believe there’s been regression in the offensive line in terms of technique and talent. Add in Pollard admitting he wasn’t healthy and who knows if he is now, it just adds up to a **** run game.
I think they made a huge mistake getting rid of Philbin. This line was much better at run and pass blocking last year.

The finger needs to be pointed at that old coach.

You really need to examine the play.... it looks like he wasn't even supposed to get the ball. He folded his arms and stormed straight ahead like he was supposed to be a decoy.

So who really screwed that play up?
