Dallas needs to rebuild the entire running game in the offseason, one that can carry the team on the road.
That's a fantasy scenario as no team can score and win esp the SB with just a great running attack.
Its a passing league bud or so they tell me...............
P.S. By the way with what CAP $ are you gonna build?

You can’t pass if you can’t run though, well consistently anyways. It will take a couple of years but I’d start by not extending Dak and use that money with a QB on a rookie contract. Dallas would have to ride out next season but after that, quite a bit of $$$ will be available to play with.

If they give that bozo QB of ours 60+ million they and us are worthy of the pain and agony that will follow.

Frankly the
I wouldn’t complain if we draft a running back in the first round.
@baltcowboy I would ... I'm not for drafting a RB just for the sake of drafting one.

That's what brings (reaches) you the Sony Michell, .. Clyde Edwards-Helaire... Najee Harris

- Also with the way I'm seeing we are using our RBs, i'm still convinced we are Not properly using them
to their strengths. at the top of their capabilities.

- Its not just running the ball.. we simply do not believe in using our RBs in pass game.
I thought for sure it was just Kellen Moore ,,, but we still do not believe in RB screens, misdirection
quick swing-flairs and isolations to " creatively" into the pass game.

- Irony that even Kellen brought out more in RBs in pass game than current McCarthy offense ?
(ala Pollard wheel route TD v Vikes ,,,and slot TD vs Detroit)

- Same instances we saw the Bills creatively scheming James Cook into their pass game - we should've
been doing the same with Pollard. It's

Also brings you Jamyrr Gibbs, Bijuan Robinson, Josh Jacobs, Etienne, Najee Harris, McCafrey.

Hold it........someone listed Najee Harris as a negative? Why? Dude has been consistently good. 2,930 scrimmage yds and 20 TDs in his first two seasons. And has 801 and 5 TDs this year. Why do you consider him a reach?

That's why I underline a statement drafting a RB- just for the sake of drafting one.

But I believe that theory in ANY position, but let's face it desperate QB needy teams will continue to gamble-risk
with that position.

With Najee, to each his own, but Harris appears to me as a workhorse, not a fear factor.
Not a game breaker.
if I'm facing the Steelers, i haven't seen anything special about him that invokes fear into me as
say a Zeke, Barkley(pre-ACL) McCaffrey, Robinson, etc.

Zeke would’ve picked up quite a few blocks to give Dak more time as well.

A lot of people were so quick to run him out. SMH. Pollard is quick but he’s no feature back and that was easy to see.
I've been saying this around the forum as well. Everybody was chasing Zeke out of town with pitchforks and fire chanting "Pollard! Pollard!". Now Pollard is getting that treatment. It's hilarious to me. lol

I can't grant TPollard excuses when we didn't do the same for our lead RB on a bad knee for 2 years.

Not everyone was trying to chase Zeke out of town. But you don’t keep a RB that is only good for 3rd or 4th and short. Doesn’t play special teams. It’s a waste of a roster spot.

The running backs had only 16 caries for a 2.8 yard average. That’s horrible and pretty much been this way all year. It takes a Herculean effort by the offense just to keep it close. McMcarthy’s offense is stagnant. Teams have adjusted. Combine that with just horrible play by the offensive offensive line and I’m shocked we were even close.

Defense was solid in this game only giving up 20 pts to Miami. Don’t blame them at all. No QB in the NFL can consistently win in the NFL without a threat of a running game. The Cowboys don’t have that. Teams don’t even play the run against the Cowboys. They know they have to throw so play accordingly. And teams are getting pressure with only 4 rushing lineman!

There is a positive to this game although I’m not preaching any moral victory. But they did show some grit in the 2nd half. I saw some fire by both sides of the ball and Dak led them back to the lead with 3 something left. But too little too late.

The coaches, especially the offensive coaches(MM), need to take a step back and realize they can’t just throw the ball on every down. They need to commit to the run. At least try harder to get it going.

If they can continue to show the fire they showed in the 2nd half and fix the o-lines woes AND run the ball better, they can still go far. :starspin:
Can barely protect Dak much less provide run blocking…

Running game was better last year. They could have told Zeke to take a pay cut. He's nit what he was but he kept Pollard fresh and was that short yard situational back that usually got the 1st down or touchdown

I STILL find it hard to believe that this OL could be this poor at run blocking.

It has to be the scheme…the plays being drawn/called

You really need to examine the play.... it looks like he wasn't even supposed to get the ball. He folded his arms and stormed straight ahead like he was supposed to be a decoy.

So who really screwed that play up?
Dak called the play, he would know where the ball is suppose to go.
