Stock Up: Bailey, Dak, Fred beard

Stock Down: Front 7, Marinelli

Stock Waaaaaaay Down: Garrett time management (passing with lead in 4th, going 3 and out/getting players prepared situations like no timeouts (Dunbar & TWill), Linehan play calling, FO and Garrett thinking D was good enough (cost of Mayowa/Thornton/Jack should have been enough to buy ONE very good player PLUS Collins, Hitchens and Thornton were trash against the run)

No. Cause he was a huge liability in the run game. Huge.
The entire OL was as well. OL and Witten will be much better. That being said Witten had some clutch catches and I see no reason to put him in the down spot

Up:
Romo
Morris
McClain
Bailey

Down:
Zeke
Dez
Twill
Beasly

Witten is no longer a threat after the catch or stretching the field in the middle / matching up against LBs but he still consistently is open for 6-9 yards on 2nd down.

UP:

Dak
T. McClain
Bailey
Morris

Down:
Free
T. Crawford
Williams
Dez
Witten
Hitch

Dak had 4-5 high passes that on a bad day would be picks. I'm high in him developing but good lord, Romo with that sort of protection? This O actually gets Dez the ball and wins by a couple of TDs.

The Giants keyed on Zeke and dared Dak to beat them.

Entire D? The D did enough to win.

Did ya miss the part where the O dominated the first half yet only managed three field goals?

They didn't stop anybody running up the middle! Did you miss that? Did you miss where they faded in the fourth once again? Did you miss where they gave up long pass after long pass? If the TOP wasn't what it was, this would've been a blow out, did you miss that?

Frustrating and disappointing night. Good night, CowboysZone.

They aren't an elite D. Yet the D held the Giants to 20 points. They gave up one score in the second half. Turnover. Multiple forced punts.

Yeah. That's all on the D.

I'll give Carr an up.. Made a play.. Never stood out as a weakness..

The defense was an embarrassment today... They can Hyde behind points allowed but this is why we watch the game and not the numbers. That defense fails the eyeball test miserably.
fair enough

Marinelli gets a big down from me.

The Giants Ran the exact same draw play at least 10 times yesterday. They just flipped it.

They ran the same play 5 straight times in the fourth quarter, yet on two of those is saw 6 people in the box.

Linehan also gets a big down from me. I didn't know that the Dallas Cowboys could only run Ezekial Elliot out of the shotgun? Is this Chip Kelly 2.0? What was that about? No way to help out your rookie QB.

We did not take advantage of Dak's mobility. No crossing routes. No way to get our playmakers involved. It was very very basic and it lacked creativity. How about using Butler more? Him and Dak had GREAT chemistry in the preseason and I hardly say him on the field. How about a designed QB draw when we go 5 wide? A bootleg? We used to run a misdirection play a few years ago that worked every time. It was the roll out to the right, the TE would fall, get back up and be wide out on the left side of the field. THERE WAS NOTHING LIKE THAT!

The game plan on offense was predictable.

Yeah people keep giving this defense a hard time.....I was impressed with the secondary. The defensive line.....I was more upset by the run stopping than the pass rush.

But the defense wasn't the problem today. We came into this season saying we'd need anywhere from 25-28 points to win games. Thats was done today. It should've been enough to win today.

We should rely on Bailey to get some some kicks but not use him as a security blanket. People get too caught up in the "stats" of the NFL. Aggressiveness more times than not helps you win games in this league. You are just playing with fire with conservativeness.

We've seen enough from this defense to know that its going to play hard......but its not going to win games. As bad as it looked at times today......this defense can play FAR worse and played good enough to win today. I think you take this type of performance from them.
Thorton played?

Saw his name out there at least in the 4th quarter......he was out there.

Beasley played very well today. He was all over the place. A few frustrating times when he could've gotten the first but tried to get cute. Dak overthrew him a bunch. He is short.

Witten played well too. He does what Witten does. Gets first downs. Was one of Dak's most consistent targets.

Dez just kept trying to go long and beat his man for the TD with a jump ball. Dak's passes weren't perfect, but Dez needs to adds some facets to his game and stop relying solely on the jump ball.

Elliott was confusing. Looked pretty awful. I caught a few very impressive blitz pickups, but overall his running was terrible. I would say it's because the defense wasn't afraid of Dak's arm, but then why did Morris consistently run well?

O-line was frustrating. Too many false starts and holdings. I think everyone on the line committed at least one penalty. Hard to tell if the run blocking was awful or if it was Elliott. Pass blocking was okay.

Dak started off hot but then did nothing. Finished with a mediocre completion percentage after completing everything early on. None of his deep balls were connecting. Most of his passes were short to Beasley and Witten. Didn't cause any turnovers but started throwing a lot of sloppy passes later in the game that could've been picked off.

Defense looked pretty bad. They were getting destroyed with the deep pass like they've been for years. Didn't see much difference between Jones and when we used to have Wilcox back there. Claiborne made some plays. Carr got a gift INT. Kept seeing McClain in on plays. Not much from T. Craw or the DEs. Only LB I saw in on plays was Lee. Defense gave up long, fast scoring drives in the 1st half despite being out-clocked 5 to 1. Then they got destroyed by the run later in the game to wind down the clock and blow any chance of coming back.

Overall, pretty typical performance by a pretty typical team. Didn't really see much change between today and previous years. I guess Elliott had one of the worst performances I've seen from one of our RBs in a long time. Other than that, business as usual.

There was more to the game than catching a few passes in the first half. He was an awful blocker the entire day and missed several kick out blocks in the running game and commited a penalty that could have cost us three points. He looked old and slow.
