Stoops to the XFL

Crazy as I heard him in an interview recently and he said he had no ambition to coach in the pros. Not that the XFL is the pros, but I assume money talks.

Would never work unless Jerry kept his mouth shut and let Stoops run the team as he wants to, not Jerrah, and we all know that won’t happen.

How much could he be getting? I am embarrassed for him.

Not an embarrassment.

This XFL incarnation is not the one of 2000.

WWE is now a media empire worth ~6.5bn

Back then it was worth less than half a billion.

McMahon is personally putting 500mn into the launch.

Rumors currently are that ABC is looking at offering them a 3pm Saturday timeslot, along with a Saturday evening slot on ESPN, supplemented by slots on ESPN2/ESPN+. WWE is in talks with Fox as well, with games airing on Fox itself and Fox Sports.

XFL is going to make the recently launched AAF irrelevant.

Dallas is viewed as the marquee market by McMahon & co. Given the large rabid football fan-base (us), they see it as an area that will eat up more football of pro-quality. Stoops may be making a smart decision.

I for one, am not interested in watching a XFL team in this area.

McMahon has probably been reading this board and figures he can draw fans away from Jerry.

the AAF is not signing any name players at all. Ive only heard of 3 names. The teams do not have ownership, the league owns all teams. It will be interesting to see how 2019 and 2020 play out for these new leagues.

:lmao2:this is going to fail just like the xfl. No one wants to go see dudes that can’t even make the practice squad play.

If the XFL makes a hit with viewers on Saturdays, it is going to run College 1A football out of business.

An overrated college coach.
He took a floundering OU program that hadn’t even won the conference championship in 13 years and that had a losing record each of the previous 3 years, and in his second season won the national championship. Overall he had a 190-48 record as a head coach and won 2 national championships. Not many that have done better than that.
