There are two Bellichicks. The one who had Tom Brady and was called gods gift to football.

And the one who didn’t have Tom Brady and was just another coach of a mediocre team

Guess which one we would get?
What a short sighted assessment. He won 6 rings with Brady. You have to know how to coach a winning team for that to happen. Bill bought all of the groceries and made all of the major decisions and did it very well. Before Brady he had Bledsoe, and the Patriots did well. Bledsoe got hurt, Brady won the job, end of story. Before that he coached the Cleveland Browns. Should I elaborate more? After Brady, he had Mac Jones at QB and the offense was bad. Go figure. Bad QB=bad offense=bad team. We have Dak, and Lance in the wings. The QB room is light years ahead of anything he had outside of the Brady years.

Bottom line, Jerry will never hire either Belichick, Harbaugh, or any other competent HC out there right now. The new HC would have to sell his soul to Jerry and be on the downside of his career desperate to be the HC here or anywhere else for that matter. Unfortunately, the light at the end of the tunnel is just Jerry lost in the tunnel himself.

Bill has made it publicly known that he respects the Dallas front office and is willing to cede some control at his next gig.

Jerry has also made it publicly known that if he ever got the chance to hire Belichick, he would.

Do with that information what you will. Their words, not mine.

This take that BB isn't a great coach is stupid and riddled with recency bias.

Having a great qb doesn't automatically give you superbowls. How many did MM get with Rodgers or Payton with Brees?

Maybe the game has passed him by, but he was a brilliant coach. I'd roll the dice and see if he still is. He's not ridding himself of our qb either. So if you want BB, you should know that's what you're getting.

The only choice is Bill.
OR, just spit ballin' here but what if you talked with Bill & he said I just don't know that I have the drive to be the HC BUT I'm willing to help you out. Maybe you hire Vrabel as your HC and I will be a consultant as needed. But you need to give him full control of the roster. McClay & staff do their job just as they do them now but final decision lies with HC.

There are two reasons why no coach can help this football team

Jerry Jones &
Stephen Jones

Guess which one we are stuck with the longest?
You are spot on. Jerry is 81 so he can't last too much longer but Stephen has the same idiot genes. Only difference is Stephen doesn't have a gigantic EGO.

Jerry would NEVER hire Bill B. If the Cowboys had a great season and won the superbowl Bellichick would get all the credit. JJ could never let that happen.
Even if he did hire him, he would meddle in everything and not let Bill run things the right way. Bill would then see through it and get the hell out of here. Just like Parcells did.

Bill can still coach better than anyone.

What he can’t do is evaluate talent. That was his downfall.

He did very well for a long time though. I think having him as a part of the process with the line in particular is smart. He can't have total control though, not anymore.

His skill players were terrible in NE. We are good at picking flash and he's good at lunch pail guys. Maybe combining the two works, maybe.

The Patriots went 11-5 without Brady when he was hurt.

There is a big difference between "without brady" and "with mac jones or over the hill cam newton"
The year before NE was 18-0 going into the SB. We don’t have anything close to that caliber of team. And Belichick is now 72 and not 56.

He can't win without Brady but thought he could.

Very similar to Jerry and Jimmy
