Everyone knows that when we lose that first game, many will be screaming for Dak. Doesn't even matter if the loss is the result of the defense (which it most likely will be). It will be Romo's fault.

Yup. It's going to get loud after Romo's first pick. It will become deafening after the first loss.

I'm as excited as anybody about Dak, but the reality is, he's lit it up for 4.5 quarters of preseason football and Romo is the third highest rated passer in NFL history. Let's tap the brakes on Prescott mania a little bit.

As sure as night follows day, fantasizing about Dak as the Cowboys starter was a lock as soon as the first half was over vs. the Rams.

Guys, my original post violates the US Constitution in three different ways. Did you think I was serious about people calling for Dak to start over Romo?

You can't be serious.

I would think the only ones wishing for a Romo-removal are those folks who've been anti-Romo all along (which seems incredible to me).

Walking out of work today I chatted with a fellow cowboy fan. I said, what'd you think about Dak? He said, he needs to start. I chuckled. Then realized he wasn't. He goes on to say well he'll play this year anyway after Romo gets his *** kicked.

Driving home I thought about this site. Unbelievable how some of our OWN fans can hate Tony so much. I honestly do not get it

I get it. We literally have the DUMBEST fans in the league. I'm not on FB, but was shown the comments on a Cowboys post; the level of idiocy is SO much higher than you can imagine.

I agree. He definitely seems to have the Dakup QB spot by the short and curlies, but he's in the learning mode of the expanded playbook he's going to be exposed. Dak has enough pressure as it is. I'm as super excited as a lot of you guys are, though, and with good reason.

Yeah, yeah...I know it is pre-season...doesn't matter, just a good time to take lumps and learn, but....I just hope he comes out of the dress rehearsal w/Seattle without coughing up the ball too much and hurting his confidence (TDs be damned...just don't throw 2-3 picks). Pete the Cheat likes to play Wilson and the 1's well into the 3rd Qtr and make that game his personal Super Bowl. It's a good challenge, better than what we saw with LA and MIA, but I just hope to see him take it up a level because that team in C-link will be looking to expose a rookie.

Regardless: Romo, Dak, and more importantly the team, look to be in a very, very good QB situation right now compared to where they were several months ago.

I will say this ; Dallas has gone from a precarious team at the QB position to the best QB strength in the NFL [ in my perception].
It's a NFL Fairy Tale.

Now we'll have to learn how not to go crazy every time the crazies start screaming for Dak.

Romo and Dak just have very different playing styles. But didn't Weeden look pretty good when he stepped into games until he actually had to start real games?

This team right now is built for Romo. I think we could be lucky enough to have a Favre/Rodgers situation. As long as Romo doesn't waffle like Favre, I think he is here as long as he wants to be just like Favre would've been with GB until he started wavering.

That being said, I thought Romo looked more mature and precise in the pocket than ever. Brady-esque even.
