Stop using Zeke as excuse

I disagreed with people saying this until I went to some all-22 from last year. He's nowhere near the burst he had last year. I'm not going to guess why, and I know that a lot of his runs this year he's getting killed behind the LOS, but just from a burst perspective he has regressed quite a lot.

Beer doesn't process at 23 like it does at 19.

He needs to un-bloat himself.

Heard this same garbage when Demarco left. Anyone can run the ball blah blah blah. Sorry but this team's success relies on the running game and Zeke is one of the best in the league. Losing him will hurt.

Losing last year's Zeke has already hurt.

We went one year "without" Murray and that was a bomb not because we didn't have Murray but because we didn't have a QB.

Zeke is a great player. And losing him for 6 games hurts. But if this team is supposed to be as good as everyone thinks, losing him for 6 games shouldn't blow the team completely apart either.

The overall coaching and defense (due to the FO) are why this team is 2-3.

But we have enough talent to be a wild card team.

Zeke is significant but if Garrett (and Linehan) can improve game management skills and be creative on offense we have a shot at winning games while Zeke is out and making the playoffs.

If this team is anywhere close to where we want to be, losing Zeke shouldn't cost us the season. Not like Zeke or the running game has been the strength of the team anyway, so the impact of his loss AT THIS TIME should be a min if other players raise their game. Players like Dez, T-Will, D-Law, B-Jones, Hitchen and more importantly the OL need to step it up big-time. If we can get these guys to take their game to the next level......we'll be fine and yes I left Dak, Lee and Witten out on purpose. You know you're getting solid 60 min from these three every Sunday. I'm a firm believer the talent level from one team to another is marginal. Most games come down to leadership and/or who wants it the most.

Quarterback, offensive line, defensive line - that's where championships are won in the NFL. If you're weak in one of those areas you'll only go so far.

Ummm...............they arent close to where they want to be. That is the point. Losing Zeke just makes it even worse.

But you have to love the "we will be fine" line. Keep up the blind work.

This version of the Cowboy's strength has always been it's OL & running game, not the passing game. You seem to be wanting the team to be something its not. If you are counting on Dez and T-Wil to save this team then you can forget it. Dez is supporting cast not a feature player. The running game must get going for this team to have success even if that means doing it without Zeke for 6 games.

To act like he's the difference between being a good team and one that craps the bed is also ludicrous.

If the TB is the difference here, then guess what? The team and the coaching staff aren't all that good to begin with.

I think that's pretty obvious at this point.

If their players aren't better than the opposition's across the board, they're in trouble.

But there isn't a shred of doubt in my mind that if he sits for 6 games and this season unravels, the usually suspects will use that as an excuse for Garrett this offseason.

Certainties in life - death, taxes and Garrett getting cover in the offseason.

And you have to be able to move the chains. We were going on 4th and 1 a few times last game. Have to keep that up and make it to keep that awful defense off the field. Only way we have a chance. We start passing all over the place and don't make first downs it could be a blowout in the other direction.

Zeke is a great but he’s not the best player on the team. That honor belongs to Dak, and its not even close. The best player on the team stays in shape no matter what and plays hard regardless of the situation.
