Guess he should know......he has seen lot's of QB's come and go over the years.

AmericasTeam31;1112091 said:I didn't feel bad for him. He needed to get his head out of his *** and tutor Romo, and stop pouting... He put himself in that position, there is a reason that we gained twice as many yards in the second half.

Granted, some of those decisions aren't great, but at least they're quick![]()
CaptainAmerica;1111483 said:Agree. It's very obvious he's playing much worse this year than last year and you can see the tentativeness he was playing with as he felt the pressure of being benched. Blesdoe was a dead end street that gave us no hope for the future.
I believe Romo can become a Delhomme/Brees type QB for us. Go check those guys stats the first year they played.
CowboyBlog;1110799 said:Yea, he has a winless lifetime record on pass to be sacked more than David Carr and set the NFL record for INTs.
This is going to be a bad road trip.
The worst decision since the 4 down run against the eagles some years ago.

Still the "man-love" for Bledsoe shines through.![]()
AmericasTeam31;1112044 said:I just want to know how many 3 and outs we had when Romo came in? Oh wait, NONE! Everytime we got the ball we moved down field, until our "probowl" reciever drops it on 4th and 2. Or until we turned it over on an int. But the bottom line is that our Offense was stuck in neutral in the first half, and actually going backwards. Romo moved the ball and spread it around, and finally we realized that we have a tight end who can get open and catch the ball too.... I'm on board with Romo, even if it means that we don't make the playoffs this season, although I still think we can. The offense is getting way too old, and we need some youth in there anyway.
CIWhitefish;1112281 said:The biggest thing I noticed was how much more fluid and crisp the play calling and offensive pace looked when Romo was in. After dragging for the 1st half it looked like it had a little more life. If nothing else Romo will change how teams prepared for us. It won't just be blitz up the middle all day.
I agree, but is there any non-preseason game film on Romo? Most young QBs do have success for 5-6 games, then teams start to figure out tendencies, and they disappear into also-rans. I think playing Tony is to find out if we need to draft a QB. It's obvious we need to draft a OL...peplaw06;1110730 said:And when Romo is prepared for... I expect this road trip to be brutal if Romo is given the reigns.

"Drew is a great quarterback and he's around longer than I've been around. It's unfortunate to get replaced like that in the game. But, you know, you prepare for Drew Bledsoe. You don't really prepare for Romo.
And sometimes you get a back up quarterback that comes in and he just, you know--because he's unconscious basically, he's not really thinking, he's just trying to make something happen--he's successful. And today he came out and got a little hot but we were able to make some plays."

Bledsoe is the more complete QB IMO, and there's no question in my mind based on what I've seen from Romo. He is more careful with the ball, he has a better arm, he has experience, he is more of a leader, he can keep us in games, and there's more...
Bledsoe doesn't "watch the rush." IMO he spends too much time looking downfield waiting for the homerun to develop. Bledsoe spreads the ball around well enough IMO. And Romo merely injected energy into the crowd and the team because it was something new. If he struggles, which I expect as with any new starting QB, that will wear off.
Other than that, few of your points amount to more than "mobility and moxie." You're just restating them. Enthusiasm?? Yep, he was like a big dumb puppy dog tonight, and that's not intended in the endearing sense.
DUDE!!! SWEET!!! DUDE!!!JeffInDC;1112564 said:DUDE, ARE YOU SERIOUS?????????? Your post lost all validity when you said that Drew protects the ball better. And, as for the pass rush, Bledsoe has shown (especially this year) no more pocket awareness than Chad Hutchinson.
Yes, Romo threw 3 picks in the 2nd half; in his first real game action as a professional. Drew has thrown 3 picks in a game twice this year and he is a 14 year vet.
I'll take my chances with Romo. No one knows what the hell Romo will do from this point on. Unfortunately, we all know what Drew will do. It is indeed time to move on. And, if Romo, does curb the impulse throws (he looked a little Farve-ish), this team just may be alright (especially now that Jason Witten doesn't have to stand in as a 7th lineman as much).

Give me a break... There's no question RIGHT NOW that Drew protects the ball better. 3 picks in one half... it's not hard to protect it better than that.
If BP goes with Romo, I will too... But I'm not going to pretend that he gives us the best chance to win from what I've seen. Could that change? Sure. But I'll have to see it to believe it. I'm not going to get on my knees for Romo simply because he's young and can move a bit.
It's pretty clear to me from what I've seen of Romo that if we go with him, we're resigned to missing the playoffs. If you're ready to make that concession, that's your call. I'm not. I've waited too long for this season to come to give up after 6 games.
I also don't need 10 games to see if Romo is "the future." I can make that assessment in 4-5 games. So the "we gotta see what we got" sentiment is lost on me, because we can do that later IMO.
JeffInDC;1112664 said:From what you have seen? You, like everybody else, has seen 2 REAL QUARTERS of football from Romo. Yet, WE HAVE ALL SEEN 14 YEARS OF BLEDSOE!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I actually have been very supportive of Bledsoe. But, enough is enough already. Bledsoe continues to make extremely bad plays that a 14 year vet should not make. It is time for a change. And, remember the last time Bledsoe got benched for some young, unproven low draft pick. It worked out O.K. And, don't even try to come back and say anything to the effect that "we all knew how Brady was going to turn out".![]()
stealth;1112679 said:oh ya and that high draft pick he got benched for is turning out to be a stud.
No matter how you slice it Bledsoe is today a better QB than Romo.
If we still had vinny on the team I could see controversy but Drew isn't even the problem at all. The only problem with bledsoe I hace is his over reliance on terry glenn. Those two need to get out of the shower together and Drew needs to spread the ball around. I don't get why we have one of the best Tight ends in the league who just signed a fat contract and we don't use him.
