Straight from BP's mouth; Merriman and Ware play basically same role

I couldn't care less what Bill says. They don't play the same role.

Kerry Collins threw the ball directly at Merriman. There werent any Titans around, so yeah he got an interception, but it was gift wrapped to him. Doesnt mean he is some kind of shut down corner now.

Drew Henson has all the time it takes. There's no schedule here. ;)

"Aikman sucks. We totally missed on that pick. Can't believe we were stupid enough to pass up Mandrich for Aikman. But, there's hope. There is a kid playing Pop Warner right now by the name of Romo. He's got Moxie!!"

:laugh2:

lol nice

Look at last years numbers.

They arent that far apart. it is silly to act like being a couple sakcs less or something is devestating.

ware is awesome.

Regardless of what BP says ... there are differences.

- San Diego has a better front 3 right now.

- The LB's who played opposite Merriman last year had 11.5 sacks, while the LB's that played across from Ware had 2 sacks.

- Merriman is moved around MUCH more. He lines up on the left and right sides and is often sent up the middle.

- Donnie Edwards is the Chargers best cover LB, and he allows Merriman to drop less and rush more as he typically draws the tough coverage assignments.

Merriman's 3 sack game.....

- Beat Lamont Jordan one-on-one.

- Outside pressure flushed Brooks inside and right into Merriman's lap as he was coming up the middle.

- Initially beat the RT ... Brooks slipped out of his grasp and tried to turn the other way but Gallery couldn't get out of his own way let alone Brooks', which forced Brooks to turn back into Merriman who was still partially on the ground and simply had to reach up and help Brooks to the ground.

Also, the Chargers had 6 sacks seperate from Merriman's 3 ... it was a jail break all night.

In Ware's 3 sack game, he beat the LT each time ... and forced fumbles on all 3. Additionally, he was THE ONLY Cowboys player to record a sack in the game.

dont waste your time posting facts here CCB...the fickle pinheads will just ignore it and continue to insist Merriman HAS to be better than Ware, even though anyone objective that watched the two play knows both are going to be special players

Sounds like BP is trying to light a fire under Ware.
Any Merriman-Ware comparison is more likely to light a fire under half this forum.

More like a three alarm raging fire.

Merriman and Ware are both good players I really don't see what the issue is. For those going on about Merriman your spinning your wheel as always. He does not play in Dallas. Cowboys got there man on draft day his name is Ware either pull for him or don't but at least quite your whinning about it.

Well, has BP compared Ware to LT yet ? That is my question. Has he said he could be like LT ?

Wonder what would happen if Ware was supposed to drop back in coverage, but instead rushed the passer and got a sack ?

Wasn't there a story about LT doing that at least once ?

If Ware is as good as Merriman then he NEEDS to get to QB more often.... close is only good in horseshoes....

No more Mr. Nice Guy

I would accept it if he just became the next Charles Haley. Not getting to the QB, but evoking enough chaos in the backfield to cause sacks by other players.
