As typical with this forum, just because people are upset with no free agent signings they are automatically "chicken littles" ,"dumb" ,"have no idea" blah blah blah. Nothing but the same redundant garbage you can read here all year long.

Just to give some credibility to those of us who are concerned about lack of activity (all I ask for is some interest......JUST A FEW VISITS WITH DECENT FA'S for crying out loud!).......here's the quote STRAIGHT from the dc website before free agency:
"We've been ready to go four different times," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said at the DFW Grand Hyatt Wednesday night after the league, by a 30-2 vote, approved the CBA extension and very creative revenue-sharing plan. "Now it's time to get after these free agents. We got this thing done and we know how much (money to spend). It's time to go to work." "You've just got to be prepared," Stephen Jones said. "And I know we are."

Still waiting......
And just for the record there are still good free agents out there. But as per the quotes straight from Stephen Jones (executive vice president) seems to be just alot of bark and no bite.

From what we've heard, we've offered contracts to Fabini and Ayodele.

Doesn't mean they have to sign them.

I'm concerned too. I am hoping to see someone of a little more impact signed. Whats your take on Adoleye? It looks like we're going to pas on a linebacker we gave up two draft picks for, go figure.

sorry - those who panic at the first opportunity ARE chicken littles.

other than longwell and bentley, no FA has been signed we were targeting anyway and bentley was more a fan dream than anything.

would you rather the forum went into a PANIC MODE and we all started throwing temper tantrums? would you rather sign a bunch of smurf wr's we never wanted anyway JUST SO you could be happy we signed someone?

chill out dude.

The signings are coming. Patience, grasshopper......
Nothing personal, I have patience as long as there are a few good fa's left. I have considered they're waiting until getting TO to start signing other guys. I just hope the lack of scheduled visits doesn't leave us as bottom feeders while everybody else signs the cream of the crop.;)

Folks who are crying about no activity don't understand FA. You can jump out to an early lead and grab guys in the first few days OR you can be patient -- like the Pats, Steeler, and Colts do every year. Don't assume our early signings will be the biggest.

If you don't like it root for the Skins -- they are great at giving their fans early "name" signings.

Yeah okay I guess I better chill because I'm one of those throwing tantrums.
Ahem, well I guess there's no civility even amongst common Cowboy fans, but alas keep name calling and attacking if it makes you feel better.

I'm not calling for early signings, just scheduled visits to show interest. Read again.....

Fabini was available weeks ago and has rumored to have failed physical here (no suprise)

Ayodel would be a nice OLB add. He was here Saturday I'm starting to think he's shopping for better $ and will get it.

this is what kills me about the chicken littles, they don't understand that the 1st few days of free agency is where all the high-money contracts are being thrown around, well, look at the Cowboy's biggest needs: K, FS, RT, OLB...they don't require high-money contracts, although I'd make a case for a K needing to be well spent on, and look at the RTs on the market, none are worth a big contract, same for the FSs that are on the market, and we're looking at Akin Ayodele for OLB, and the draft is loaded with them too

we need more than just a servicable RT to fix the problem on the OL. 3 years ago we'd have traded flo for a box of twinkies. then last year he gets hurt and the line falls apart? i don't buy flo being THAT good more than i see a handy excuse for a pathetic line.

i agree the players and positions we need/want are still there for the most part but if we don't "spend top$" to get a top OL in here, then how can we realistically expect the line to perform much better than it did last year.

you know, when it sucked.

Maybe he will go out and try to get a better offer and ask the Cowboys to match it. That is very possible too. Especially if he wants to play in Dallas. I believe that is what Bently did with the Eagles. He got a huge offer and then asked Cleveland to match or up it and he took that because that was were he wanted to play anyway.
