Finished Stranger Things. They left it open for a next season at the end but I have to wonder if this is going to be one of those shows where every season is a different story ala True Detective or American Horror story.
Also finished last season of Longmire.
Finally finished the full Star Trek Enterprise (all 4 seasons). Which with Star Trek it is quite a deal as each season is over 20 episodes long. Have to say I forgot how crappy the ending was for Enterprise...total let down of an episode.
Still got plenty of things on the list to watch...been trying to get through the Jessica Jones show. Not terrible but at the same time, not so good either. I just want to get it done so I can watch Luke Cage, Iron fist and the defenders down the road.
You guys need to check out The Last Kingdom.
It has a Vikings / Marco Polo feel to it.
Also, I liked that show Salem. There is a few good actors on the show and but the overall acting quality isn't that great but the story line is solid. It kind of reminds me of True Blood but watered down.
The first season of Salem is ok...even though they try to be shocking. After that it starts getting pretty bad...almost laughable bad.
Already confirmed this will not be the case.I also think that season 2 of Stranger Things is more likely to go the anthology route like True Detective/AHS. While they left it open somewhat, it would also make sense if that's the end of that particular storyline.
.
I'm in the minority here I guess. . I loved it. I finished in one day lol. I love the 80s and that soundtrack especially the entrance theme to me was great. . the kid actors were good . I'll agree that it wasn't Ryders best performance though
I may watch it again that's how much I liked it.
Absolutely loved it as well. I really don't think we are in the minority as pretty much everyone online and in person I know that has finished it either liked it, really liked it, or straight up loved it. The "meh" crowd is definitely in the minority with this one.
Honestly, I'm so sick and tired of shows that have that "big mystery" and then just drag it out on and on to keep people interested. It's so lazy, and rarely is the payoff worth the time invested.
I appreciate it even more after it was over and I'll probably watch it again. Quality show.
You guys should check out The Last Kingdom... I loved that one as well.
Wife and I finished the series last night. Overall, pretty good. Although, I thought the monster was a bit corny and the special effects were outdated for 2016; it looked more inline with something you would have seen in a made-for-TV special in the 90s.
I really liked the opening music of the show though.
I think that was what they were kinda going for. I liked it.
Keep in mind that it's essentially an 8 hour movie, but with a smaller budget than many films. Personally, I thought the effects were pretty good. Compare it to made for TV movies like "V" or some Star Trek Episodes in the 90's, and this blows it away (IMO). Maybe I need to see it again to see if the effects came up short, but I didn't have a problem.I don't think it was. The setting of the series was harkening back to the 80s, but not the filmmaking limitations of the time.
