too much goofiness in the dc.com interviews. i know it might sound stupid but i watch those interviews every week and i can tell with the team is pissed. the team plays better pissed. there was too much of a goofy vibe from the interviews this week. scandrick started praising himself, romo was more talkative with the media than his normal short self. i remember after a big win last year (cant remember which one) but romo called into the ben/skin show in the middle of the next week for an interview. i remember thinking i've never seen him do that and it worried me. next game we got beat. i know it sounds stupid and i understand a lot of the blame is on the dfw media for their rollercoaster love/hate for team but i think i have a good sense about emotional state and focus of the team. i have a bad feeling about this game.

So I should be looking out for "goofiness". Gotcha!

its become predictable. dfw media rags on the team, they respond. dfw media treats them like kings all week, they get complacent. this game worries me 100x more than the broncos game.

I can't say that I've noticed any correlation between the attitude of the team in interviews and winning or losing. From what I've seen, we've just struggled with consistency and turnovers, across the board, and have played a lot of teams that were comparable to our own. I don't think it's more complicated than that.

In any event, the objective is to get a team that's capable of playing consistently regardless of whether or not they won the week before. Good teams have to do that well, so, if we want to really be a good team, we're going to have to learn to execute as well when we're confident as we do when we're being doubted.

I think this will be another tough game--they all are--but this is a game that we should be able to win. It sets up favorably for the offense to have another big day. It's going to be a great test for our pass defense.

Zordon, serious question - when is the last time you had a really positive post about the Cowboys?

Get these skally wags out of our way and bring on the Broncos. We win convincingly and easily.

38-17 Cowboys.

Idk why Romo is considered a "choker" and Rivers isn't. Rivers is trash!

Romo - Season QBR: 103.9, Lifetime rated #5 @ 95.9
Rivers - Season QBR: 116.2, Lifetime rated #6 @ 95.1

I don't think you're crazy at all. I've noticed over the years that often when the fan base and media are overconfident and looking ahead to the following week, the team is, too.

Just human nature that they'd think the same way as everyone else, I guess. But everyone around here plus the media crowning us after two wins isn't a great sign.

I agree. I'd hate to see history repeating.

Change the formula (and the fans won't help) or this won't end well. I would even say that ebullient fans are the enemy of Cowboy success this Sunday.

It "should" be a walk in the park but like few has mentioned, this team doesn't handle success well. After spanking the Rams, I have a feeling some players are over looking the Chargers and looking ahead to the Denver game. Just like some of the fans are.

I'm not anticipating this game at their place to be the cakewalk we experienced at home with the Rams. In the past, whenever Dallas has won by a landslide, they've become complacent and have played accordingly. I see this game as either a potential turning point or more of the same we've seen in the past. Hopefully, we'll break through that complacency barrier and finally prevail to string a couple (maybe more?) of wins together. It's time.

Not sure why folk seem to be expecting an easy win. The 2 games San Diego have lost they lost as time expired and with 15 seconds to go. Yes they blew a 21 point lead but they also built it in the first place. I expect a close game and hopefully Dallas can get it done with a wee bit more time to spare than Houston and Tennessee.

Personally i haven't seen any cocky nature from the players this well but i understand what you mean about them getting cocky and having a let down. But when has the cocky nature of the fan base ever affected the game or how the players perform? Unless i suit up my attitude has no bearing on the final outcome.

I wonder if there's a stat out there that shows how many games Rivers has lost in the fourth quarter. Seems the dude has a penchant for throwing away leads and wins in the 4th. I could be way off on this.........

I don't get why some you guys think this will be a cake walk.
I don't get how people can think any game will be a cake walk with how inconsistent this team has been over the last few years.

Tell me about this "cockiness" at VR. I'm overwhelmed by curiosity.

I haven't seen any of this either.

Honestly San Diego is the one who is coming off as the cocky ones and I have no idea why. I get that every team approaches the game against Dallas responding to the perceptions and media coverage if the team though, that is common.

Last time we played San Diego they were doing the same thing, acting like who are these guys with a half smile on their face.

How are they in Dallas.

Hasn't mattered where we have played them we haven beat Denver since September 10, 1995 which I believe was shanahan's second game in Denver. 31-21

So they have kicked our tails for years with all different qb's in Denver and in Dallas.

So I would say we are due.

To win the game? Dallas. But I think it'll be another close one. It'll come down to turnovers, like it always does, but our defense should be more likely than theirs to play well and take the ball away.

Last week I felt bad about the Chiefs loss, until Thursday Night Football and I saw the Chiefs handle Philly and thought to myself maybe this team isn't as bad as a 1 point road loss felt.

This week I felt great about beating down the Rams, until Thursday Night Football and I saw how bad the Rams are. This is going to be a much tougher game than most people are expecting. Rivers has looked very solid and the Chargers just haven't been able to finish teams off. But this will be the biggest test of our defense so far this season.
