I gotta say, I'm still wary about spending a mid-first on a guard, especially since the first round has so many solid DT and OT prospects.
This mostly likely what was behind all the Daniel Thomas talk this week, and then we could take a quality DL in the 1st, however, I would be happy with either Chance or Cooper

Lol that people think both could be gone before pick 18.

Its more likely we would have our choice, if we went OG in round one.

There is no chance we will have our pick of the two at 18.

Warmack's the best player in this draft and no amount of geek combine workout nonsense is going to change my mind on that.

There is not a more dominant player in this draft class. He will instantly upgrade your OL and make your skill position players that much better.

I have them (Warmack and Cooper) rated as the 2 best players at their position in the draft. They're better at their position than Joeckel is at his, IMO.

How mad would you be if he's sitting there at 18, and we do another direction? Could you see DL in the first and OG in the second?

(If either OG is there at 18, and the DLs other than Richardson are gone, I'd go OG, too, btw).

Really liked Cooper. Most purely athletic OG I can remember seeing on film. Light feet, great balance. Plus nasty streak. Looked for contact

Based on my film work I think both Cooper + Warmack better OG prospects than DeCastro + Zeitler last yr.(I had Zeitler ahead of DeCastro).

very small minority have Cooper ahead of Warmack.

Mainly because on FILM where it really matters he is clearly better

And since he really was the BEST part of the best College O line I have ever seen that trumps anything else out there.

I don't have any expectations. I couldn't possibly have a lower opinion of the two decision makers in that room, so anything they do wouldn't surprise me.

I definitely agree with that. Put "OT" next to their names instead of "OG" and they are top 5 picks.

I'll never understand why interior OL are downgraded in the draft. They are vital on gameday, yet it's a league wide gentlemen's agreement that they don't go early. Just, well....because.

well when you think of it great guards are pretty rare. Of course we were spoiled for quite a while having probably the very best guard that ever played.

And guards NEVER get publicity like tackles do.

Put it all together and realize that GMs are subject to the same herd mentality as most others. So no real surprise that guards are probably the lowest priority and lowest valued players of the starting 22.

The cowboys were very high on Iupati(niners). Warmack is a similar player. He may be even stronger and better.

no he's not. Iupati is 6'5 big difference. And I bet once Warmack works out, his numbers won't be as good as Iupati's

Cooper is strong and athletic... I think he's the number one guard now. I'd take Warford, Cooper or Warmack!

everyone slurping at the cooper pick go on and on about the second level.

Guess what: You have to block the guy in front of you first.
Warmack is clearly better at that
And that is more important more often then getting to the second level

Agree. I'd take Warmack before Cooper.
