Business is business. That's a tough situation to deal with. Zeke had no sympathy for the Cowboys when he held them up for his fortune in the past. If the Cowboys return the favor, it's in the same terms of doing business. The FO must be devoted to that and quit being fans, which is far too costly.

Time to take control back from the players like Zeke, DLaw, and Dak who held the organization hostage for their own financial benefit and time for Jerry to grow a pair and start making the rules when it comes to negotiating power.

Any player who does not maximize their earning is an idiot. Most guys get ONE shot at a big deal and playing nice is bad business for them.

I can never believe how fans get angry at players for demanding contracts from billionaire owners.

STUPID IDEA let that man go, let all memories go, thanks for your service!! Doing this means what we want him back??

That or they are re-paying the favor from his Cabo holdout. I would think they'd moved past that animosity, but who knows?

I've heard a few people say this now, but the more I look into it I'm not sure it's true. All of Zekes guaranteed money has been paid. I think the $5M and $6M are strictly cap hits, not money Zeke would get paid out. I'm not sure Zeke has any leverage here, and the reason that he probably gets brought back at a much lower salary..
If he’s coming back for more than $1.5M then it’s too much

Yeh how dare the players get the most they could make at their profession.

Blame the stupid rednecks signing the checks not the players. But i understand y you do so

Players are idiots if they don't maximize their money while they can. NFL is Not For Long
Owners are idiots if they don't cut the player and his contract as soon as he doesn't live up to it.

The only one that always gets his money..........is the sports agent. He ALWAYS gets his.

Wish it were legitimate sport instead of Big Business for both sides.

I thought if he was on the roster at the start of the new league year he'd be due some money.

Man designate him a June 1st cut and cut him now.

Get it over with.

Let Dak pay Zeke lol.

Honestly though, I enjoyed Zeke but his valuable skill is passed. You don’t pay people cause you like them. Maybe he should learn to kick field goals and extra points?

I would think the only consideration on Zeke is how and when the cut is coming. Neither he (nor Tyron) will be paid on their present contracts and it's probable that they as a combination are going to facilitate the reduction of the CAP (by the necessary $16m) by next week. I imagine Jerry wants Zeke to tear up the contract in favor of new money $3m range.....but are also willing to cut as a Post-6/1 to save $10.9m off the CAP this year.

Rookie contracts are for the benefit of the owners.

2nd contracts are for the players.

Few NFL players earn a large 2nd contract.

He’s scored 22 TDS last 2 seasons and 1800 yards.

If he offered to take the pay cut. I wonder what he will play for. And if gets 5 this year no matter what then if he will play for 7, JJ might pay that to have a great pass blocker and short yardage guy that maybe better this year than last year. His problem is he always needed 10 carries or so to get warmed up and break defenses down. We will have new blood in the RB room for sure.
That's one of the real issues here. Zeke has done that how whole career incld. Ohio State. 35 yards in the first half, 80 in the 2nd. We stopped doing it when KM wanted his NCAA Mountain West offense. KM gives him 3 straight delayed handoffs in the 1st qtr, claims the run game is broke... then passes 50 times rest of game. He's been wasted ever since.

So yeah...if we aren't gonna give him those carries..it's pointless to have him here. Plus we need a new scapegoat. Likely TP, I'd say.

They are going to lean hard on Pollard. And he is coming off a bad injury. Maybe they keep Elliot to bring in the season load while Pollard finished healing.
