lol no you rewatch the play. Hyde is lined u right over Dez. Hyde sees the play as most CBs do, but thats why the offense sets a player inside to pick him up. Dez makes a lazy attempt to reach Hyde but he;s past him. Hyde made a great play while Dez got lazy there.[/QUOTE

We will have to agree to disagree. Yes Hyde sees it and jumps inside. If the ball is thrown at Beasley Hyde is a non factor. Heck the ball hits Hyde in the midsection. No way it's getting to Beasley. Dak in a hurry threw it to the wrong guy. Look at where the ball is picked versus where Beasley is standing.

Early AND late Linehan/Garrett kept making decisions to go to the pass on 3rd and short.

We had around 48 seconds and the NFL's #1 RB and decided to go empty backfield on a slant to Dez. I watched that play unfold in sheer disbelief.

You have a timeout, Garrett, what the hell are you doing? You spiked it to kill the clock and wasted the 1st down, Ok, water under the bridge. You got 7 yards on the sideline route to Beasley on 2nd down. Now it's 3rd down.

Even if you run the ball and don't get the 3 yards, you take TIME off the clock. Remember, Aaron Rodgers hit Cook on the sideline with just 3 seconds left. Another 5-6 seconds run off the clock on a Zeke run before GB called time out as we lined up for the FG would've left Rodgers no time to pull off those last second heroics.

Even worse judging by the way GB played that down they knew exactly what was coming. Perfect zone blitz by Mathews, Dlineman took away the quick slant throwing lane with his jump. They played Linehan like a fiddle on that call

Or hell, even this season.

any down, 2 yards to go
reg. season: 23 runs, 15 passes
playoff game: 1 run, 4 passes

any down, 1 yard to go
reg. season: 54 runs, 8 passes
playoff game: 1 run, 1 pass

What would be even more interesting is the breakdown of whether the passes were play-action or empty sets... at least PA is a little more justified because the threat of run is still there.

Remember also, whether Dak can audible into a run or pass based on pre-snap reads in this situations we chose to pass in short yardage..

Most of us can see it. Why do pro millionaire coaches outsmart themselves trying to outsmart the other team?

It's hard to criticize an offense that was 5th or whatever. I still am. That 3 and 2 was stupid. As was not having Zeke in at the end. Very stupid in fact.
