I hope Gregory gets himself clean, but I could never trust him enough to believe signing him long term would be a good idea.

Also fwiw, I think he does not play this year. He's going to be suspended at minimum 10 games, assuming the NFL doesn't make him serve both suspensions and it looks like he won't be at camp, meaning he won't really be in football shape when ever he finishes in rehab, so I don't see it being worth it to use him when he showed very little on the field last year.

Oh, I completely agree that he has a very steep hill to climb...in Basic Training that would be equal to climbing both Agony and Misery.

Fort Knox?

If he can manage Heartbreak, he just might be a QB in the NFL.

Thanks for the analysis, I can't wait to see him this preseason. But he does like to stare guys down.

That ball should have gone to 17 who was running free on the corner route out of the slot. If he would have moved on in the progression from the sideline to the middle of the field he would have seen 17 running free and simply had to time and place the pass to avoid the LB in his 7 yard drop. It was a good route by 17 who had crossed the S's face and had leverage even if the S could've drove on the throw.

That was the opportunity cost of him holding onto the ball.

This one if he pumps fake underneath, he has the out open at the sticks as the S had properly taken the go away. Alternately he had a receiver in 1 on 1 with a S downfield. This should have been a first down. One thing is clear he is a far way from reading more than one side of the field.

Can't see what happens at the top of the route but with the outside release I just don't see how that throw has a chance. Seems like an indecisive tweener.

I don't know how much of a criticism this is. Like the "stare down". There are some that do it worse than others. But i've watched Romo stare down Dez. I've watched Rodgers stare down Jordy Nelson. I've seen Eli stare down Beckham. Ryan stare down Julio. You don't want to get into the habit of doing it all the time I know, but I don't think it happening is a bad thing.

Wasn't the best throw but it doesn't look like the receiver gave him much to work with either.
I remember back in the day, people used to excuse Quincy Carter saying his receivers "didn't fight for the ball".

Your job as a QB is to put that ball where it belongs. End of story.

Sorry but the WR has responsibilities too. Oversimplifications are oversimplified. End of story.

Its funny you bring that up because whenever Romo gets a INT on the telecast the analysts sure are quick to point out a bad route by T-Will or Dez....and rightfully so. If a guy runs a poor route or the wrong route how can no responsibility be put on the receiver? That video wasn't a lack of fighting for the ball. It was a lack of positioning. And maybe even a poor route but in the receivers defense we really can't tell from that footage.

Great read.
It's surprising to me how apparently difficult it is to stop staring down the receiver for some passers.
