I think one of the things about Dallas, going off the eye-ball test, is their first offensive drive seems to chew up a lot of clock.

This time, they had the huge run by McFadden that out then in the red-zone and didn't score. That also kept the defense on the field early.

But, on the pivotal play of the game for the defense, at 14-7 with 8:15 left to go in the 4th Quarter, the unit has a chance to get off the field yet again. Packers are going to have to figure out a 3rd and 9 from the Dallas 48 if they want to put this game away. The Cowboys send five rushers and appear to have called the same blitz as they did against Washington when Sean Lee grabbed his 1st Quarter sack - except this time it would be McClain that would engage in the LB/DT stunt to Rodgers' left (although it looks like McClain is running a stunt but 95-Irving is not aware of it).

Would be interesting to see if McClain was freelancing or if Irving just blew an assignment. After breaking down the tape....If Irving had made the twist I think he makes the sack. Regardless...there was such a huge opening for Rodgers to run through....I can't blame Crawford for not making up that much ground. Would have been a huge stop....and a game changer. In that situation I don't get why we didn't have Lee spying on Rodgers. Seems like he was killing us on runs all day. The more you watch this GIF......I don't think Irving had a clue he was supposed to twist. I'm inclined to think McClain was just freelancing.....thoughts?

The fact is, we are third in TOP, yet we aren't scoring despite holding on to the ball for long. We are 30th in terms of scoring. Talk about an absolutely ineffective offense... We have not broken even close to 300 yards passing since our very first game. And our offense has 23 TOs, despite playing this conservative.

The offense is absolutely atrocious..

And BTW, we are 16th in points allowed.

It's just amazing that the FO keeps talking about the defense needed to generate TOs to win. Our offense isn't doing anything with the opportunities given to it, while at least the defense is doing an adequate job of keeping the opposing offense from scoring.

And as Sturm points out, it's natural considering our size up front on defense. It's actually more a testimony to our defense for holding on for so long, despite being under-sized.

If Dallas can get one legit, huge DE, they could have a nice rotation up front with their current crop of Hardy, Gregory, Irving, Lawrence and Crawford.

Marinelli looks totally lost and helpless out there.

Kiffin should have been retained.

Marinelli by not being aggressive against Rogers cost us some points. Rogers was too comfortable in the pocket most of the game. He was coward by going back to a pop warner defense instead of blitzing like mad like he did against the Commanders.

Defense was not the problem in the Packers game.

I actually thought the defense played very well. They held the Packers to 14 points for the majority of the game. No defense in the league will play any better under those circumstances.

We have the worst offense in the league, the WORST. How can a team have the WORST offense in the league with the talent we have and an offensive minded coach AND a well respected coordinator.

It is disgusting.

I don't think the defense is the issue either. When they've been breached for points late in the 4th it's due to the offense not putting up points too often to go along with plenty of 3 and outs.

Fatal flaw of back up QBs and bottom tier starting QBs: They can move the ball between the 20's but not in the Red Zone.

That and Garrett's offense with Romo has struggled in the red-zone, last year being an exception. His offense is really bottom half in red-zone scoring.

At least we have a solid kicker in Bailey..

For me, watching the game there at Lambeau, it felt like the Packers offense was really only slowed because they chose to get away from pounding the ball with Lacy. It was successful early, and then when they went back to it at the end they closed things out with ease.

Plus, our offense has gifted multiple scores via TOs. For some reason, three INT returns comes off the top of my head. It's not like DBs are breaking tackles to return TDs, they've got open lanes to the end zones and DBs are just jumping routes they know are coming.

It was like Philly in the game Orton played in... Kelly abused us running, until they went away from it and finally returned to it.

He abused the defense this year as well in the second game with the backs, running sweeps left, then coming back right and so on.

Lee actually did great on that play - he forced Rodgers to abandon the huge hole up the middle by sliding over that way. That forced Rodgers to the right and into the path of Crawford, who whiffed. Crawford absolutely has to make that play by wrapping Rodgers up or at least holding on until help arrives.

Both this offense and defense, despite the endless losses, are coached to be passive and just "line up and win".

Why in the world are we playing with only 2 linebackers on the field the majority of the game?

Marinelli has done this all year. No wonder Green Bay tore us up with the run.

This.

Twelve touchdowns generated by the offense. TWELVE! The Jets have rushed for 10 TDs alone on the ground.

The defense may not be generating turnovers but it still comes down to scoring more points than the other team. The offense lost this season.
