Eh we thought that after 2014. Nothing is guaranteed.
Well, he did say very soon...not the immediate next year. Only two years after 2014 would have fallen into that category.:muttley:
So if Dallas locks up home field throughout the playoffs again in two years, he would be right.

Mason Crosby is a fine kicker, but over 50 with the game on the line has not been his specialty. Crosby had been 0-4 all-time in kicks over 50 to tie or take a lead in a 4th Quarter...Crosby then hits a 51-yarder, making him now 2-6 in those situations. The only 2 kicks of his career of that magnitude happened 10 minutes apart.
And in game time, 1:33 apart.

Just how good will Dak be after a couple of years of seasoning?

Although with the right moves this off-season, we may not have to wait a couple of years for the ultimate goal.

Their skill players on offense are no where near our skill players on offense. They have a washed up running back and a great tightend (Thats itt). All their WR's are #2's at best

And Cam is missing something that Dak has in abundance, heart
That maybe true, but I can guarantee that all they were hearing after last years loss in the SB was that the future is bright.

Thanks for great coverage this whole season...and for seeing that we had the access to your great efforts.

We love our Cowboys here...and it's nice having real insights into them, by yourself.

To me, that is pure old school stuff...

The Carolina Panthers called and asked where their bright future went.
Yep. No sure things in the NFL.

Hell, the 2007 Cowboys called and asked about their bright future too.

Gotta take advantage of these opportunities. HFA throughout, a weak NFC, and a Texas Super Bowl? The stars are unlikely to align like this again anytime soon.

So do the 2007 Cowboys. 13-3 with a 27 year old Tony Romo, a 25 year old Jason Witten, and a 25 year old Demarcus Ware.
Yep, I am finding little comfort in the whole bright future narrative. This was pure and simple, a missed opportunity that may never come again. There are many positions within in this team that bodes a bright future, there are also some massive MASSIVE holes that perhaps could derail this team going forward.

There was an interesting comment to Sturm's post - why didn't the Cowboys simply tackle all of the GB receivers (as they got off the line) on the 3rd and 20 play, drawing a short (5 yards?) penalty and giving GB nothing but a long hail Mary option at the end?

Eh we thought that after 2014. Nothing is guaranteed.

And we were correct in thinking it. Much of that core -- the line, Witten, Dez -- remain in tact and are why we were back in the playoffs this season.

But, yes, if we move Zeke in the offseason, Dez goes down in Week 1 and Dak follows him in Week 2, I'm OK with writing off the 2017 season.

0-4 over 50 in that situation??? Now 2-6? Why, Why, Why do we get tortured so much.

Man can someone pour more salt on the wound?
