This doesn't hinder until next season and the line can exist without Martin, now. And the 3 large can easily have the can kicked down road and room made not to waste the talent of both Parsons and Lamb.Bye Osa thanks for the comp pick.
Would try to re-sign Lewis.Players to Re-sign
Other than locking up Micah Parsons long-term, re-signing Odighizuwa should be a top priority for the Cowboys. The 3-technique is one of the most important positions in Matt Eberflus' defense, making No. 97's return all the more important.
- DT Osa Odighizuwa
PFF contract projection: 4-years, $21.25m ($42.5m guaranteed, $85m total)
D-Law was off to a really good start in 2024 before a foot injury ended his season prematurely. Although he's on the wrong side of 30, he's still an ideal fit in Matt Eberflus' defense and would provide some much-needed depth/experience to the position.
- DE DeMarcus Lawrence
PFF contract projection: 2-years, $7.5m avg/yr ($8m guaranteed, $15m total)
DaRon Bland is the only CB the Cowboys can count right now. Re-signing Jourdan Lewis would add much-needed depth and experience to the position as well as lesson the need to use a premium pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
- CB Jourdan Lewis
Spotrac contract projection: 2-years, $4.5m ($2.25m avg/yr)

They are affordable and don't waste top team talent in extended rebuild. The costs are projected and not doing Martin, dropping LB Clark, and S Wilson gives additional cap.Would try to re-sign Lewis.
Definite pass on Osa and D-Law.
Overage of $2M and over $90 M can easily be created .,, enough?$20m for a solid starting DT is a good deal.
The cap is pushing $300m and there are only 53 roster spots.
CC, I have no idea what you are talking about. Overage of what? Relative to what?Overage of $2M and over $90 M can easily be created .,, enough?
Transition tag is 17.......I can see us doing that. Buys us a year....If OSA is projected in the $21-22M range per I see Jerry hitting him with the franchise tag for roughly $23M.
Transition tag has a lot of issues though which is why it barely gets used. Plus if you lose him you lose your comp pick. I don’t see Jerry going that route.Transition tag is 17.......I can see us doing that. Buys us a year....![]()
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolIf OSA is projected in the $21-22M range per I see Jerry hitting him with the franchise tag for roughly $23M.
The thing with Golston is.....You can find his replacement fairly easily this year....With Osa....replacing him would be hard. Like I said....I would transition tag him for the 1 year....@ 17. Buy yourself some time.....then load up in the draft w/ those 5th round picks. Some of the of kids I think we could be targeting....What if I told you one of those players already wears a star on his helmet? Chauncey Golston was taken nine picks after Odighizuwa in the 3rd round of the 2021 draft.

This season, Golston played at a comfortable weight that allowed him to be effective both on the edge and also inside as a 3-technique.
He set career highs in pressures (18), hurries (9), and sacks (5.5) to set himself up nicely for a generous second contract. Spotrac estimates his 2025 contract to be in the $4-$6 million per year range.
The Cowboys can keep Osa at 3T for $21 million per year, or they can sign Golston for $6 million per season and he can line up on the edge as well as inside at 3T
Why, the rebuild is a dumb fan's remedy. The defensive line is important here and now and they both are strong veterans.Would try to re-sign Lewis.
Definite pass on Osa and D-Law.
No, hardly.What's D-Law gonna want...30 mill a year?
