Suicide Squad getting horrible reviews

I guess that's my problem with smith, he's basically the same character in every movie.

As far as reviewers, I wish there was a way I could see what they thought about movies I liked to put any credence in a movie I haven't seen. If they say a comedy sucks, but didn't like Old School or Anchorman, then I'm going to ignore them

Will's a good actor, but he suffers from the same fate as Tom Hanks - you see Will (or Tom) first before the character more often than not, for better or worse.

I agree with you on reviewers and comedy, primarily because comedy is so subjective.

Saw the movie today. I actually think all the negative reviews had the opposite affect on me because I thought it was a pretty good movie....well at least the first 3/4 of it.

The last 1/4 of the movie was pretty crappy and tired hero dialogue. I thought the character Kitana was lame.

Overall, still entertaining and worth seeing IMO.

I have never had this problem with Tom Hanks. Maybe George Clooney, but not Tom Hanks. I think Hanks is one of the greatest actors in cinematic history.

Thought the movie was a solid 7.5.
Set up a future for many characters and gave life to Harley Quinn, Dead shot, Flagg and in a lesser vein, the Joker.

The Joker was done fairly well. It was a bit part but enough to carry onwards.

Harley Quinn was the real star of the movie and had not Will Smith been such a big name it would have been her show alone.

Will Smith isn't a "great" actor but he's at least as good as most action hero dudes have been in the past 20 years.

There was a lot crammed in but that happens when you set up storylines for this many characters.

Feel like future movies in this series will be even better.

Saw it last night with the wife.

I thought was okay. I don't regret going to see it and I might recommend it to friends. I do agree with some of you that the movie felt insanely rushed and cram. I felt there was little development (granted most of us knew the characters before the movie started) for the characters that got the story moving. They had brief intros and then they were sent to fight the mysterious "bad guy." The movie didn't have a smooth "flow" IMO.

The castings was great, it really was. Robbie nailed Harley Quinn and I felt will smith was a good enough dead shot to reprise the role. I thought boomerang was pretty good and contrary to popular opinion, I thought Leto played a joker closer to how I would imgaine the joker would look like in today's world. You can't compare leto's take on joker and compare it to ledgers. The way I see it, leto's joker was a take closer to the animated series of the joker whereas ledgers joker was more dark. Ledger's is clearly better in terms of acting but for this movie/iteration I thought leto's joker was a better fit.

Overal it was an average movie. It did have high expectations that I feel the movie didn't meet however there were some positives.

He is. He's also Tom Hanks playing X, in every movie. George Clooney is similar.

Funny, I think the same thing if they did like Old School or Anchorman. I think it's a generation gap on my part though.

That's the thing about reviewers; you should be able to get familiar enough with their taste in things to read their review and tell if you'd like it, regardless of whether they did or not. There was this one local reviewer who, if he said 'I think this might be a too complicated for the general movie goer', it meant I'd probably like it.

Marvel has a layout and plan.
A+B=Dollars

DC is doing the opposite. That Batman vs Supes was terrible! I kinda liked Man of Steel.
Yeah I liked man of steel too. That Dr. Strange movie looks like it should be good- marvel does do a better job overall. But I think marvel comics do a better job than DC also

Amanda Waller..."I want to build a team of some very bad people who I think can do some good...defeat the next Superman."

Really? A bunch of b level gangster scrub villians is gonna defeat the next Superman? lol.

Just starting to watch this movie, and so far....STUPID is too good of a compliment.

Friday Box Office: 'Suicide Squad' Plunges 79%, Holding No Better Than 'Batman V Superman'

With relatively strong weekday numbers and halfway decent audience polling, there was a hope that Suicide Squad would avoid the massive second-weekend drop that befell Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice back in April of this year. That DC Comics sequel fell a whopping 81% on its second Friday, which was a record for a major comic book superhero movie. Well, meet the new boss, same as the old one. David Ayer’s supervillain team-up caper earned $13.35 million on its second Friday, a drop of 79% compared to its (admittedly Thursday previews-inflated) $65m opening day.

It was very bad, Leto had no pop to his character, Smith sleep walked through his performance, the plot was stupid, the villain and CGI terrible. Harley was the only good thing about it and at that it seemed like they shot every scene with her accent normal and the classic "hey Mr.J" New York squawk and used both in the final cut to kill any consistency. This movie was so bad it made me appreciate Civil War more. Watching this I can understand why people have had their fill of superheroe movies. Read during the week DC are doing a musical crossover with the Flash and Supergirl, those idiots are circling the drain.

I watched halfway and stopped. Might finish it later. But the so called villians are so generic. A Croc guy. Wow, so original. Open animal book, close eyes, flip pages and whoever it lands on, have DC brand it. Without any powers and abilities that make him unique. The guy who shoots flames, Diablo or whatever. Fantastic Four Human Torch rip off. The Japanese lady with her sword. Ya, no ones seen that before.

And these are the guys/gals who are gonna stop the next Superman. Wonder if Sups would be trembling seeing Harley Quinn walking up to him with her baseball bat. Such damage a piece of wood could do to him. Noooo!

Man the first half was the best part by a wide margin, the second was frustratingly bad. Have that woman drop the line about Superman was a terrible idea, like you said what can Harley and Captain boomerang do against him. So many missteps.

I feel bad for the big-time DC fans. They're coming out in droves that first week, spending their money, and doing everything they can to support the characters they love, and Warner Bros continues to drop the ball and give them a sub-par product.

I finally saw it, thought it was just ok.....Im not a comic book/super hero movie fan at all (Batman is the only one Ive ever somewhat followed) but I wanted to watch this one mostly cause of Robbie and Leto.....The way the story was put together pretty much sucked, especially with how they all a sudden were "family" and willing to die for eachother......but, I was still entertained, and thats the ultimate goal.......

The "family" thing was dumb and felt out of place. To be fair though I believe it was only el Diablo that was referring to the group as "family"

I could be wrong though.

Went and saw it this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you like comic book movies you will like it. Batman VS Superman got terrible reviews and I also like that movie. Critics are dumb

Critics have standards that some fans don't in terms of enjoyment. Myself, the movie was dumb. B level gangster characters that are forgettable outside of Harley and Deadshot. All the fighting scenes were at night. The movie would have been more interesting if Harley and the Joker were both the main characters.
